WWI [edit]
At some point or another the British were attempting to capture this town during WWI in April 1917, or so says the thus dated "Toronto Empire Daily" I came across lately. I came to this article searching for that information, and if this is not at all propaganda it may warrant the addition of a World War I section by someone more in tune with the minute facts of that portion of History. The best I can say is that it looks behind German lines....
