Picture[edit]

This picture is by the Associated Press: http://news.yahoo.com/nphotos/undated-photo/photo//100118/481/102338a027aa43568b0326e3f9d34e24//s:/nm/20100118/lf_nm_life/us_bird_afghanistan

What is the copyright status on that and would someone consider adding it to the article?

Unless stated otherwise the copyright of photos in the news owned by news orgs is copyright protected, so we can't use it. Shame. Sabine's Sunbird talk 20:05, 18 January 2010 (UTC)[reply]
The current photograph by commons user Lainbear is of unclear status despite having been declared as being under Creative Commons. There is currently no way of telling if the user is a part of the WCS who can release the picture or if s/he is the copyright owner. Shyamal (talk) 06:32, 19 January 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Birdlife International (http://www.birdlife.org/news/news/2010/01/warbler_breeding.html) credit the picture to WCS Afghanistan though the latter (http://www.wcs.org/press/press-releases/afghanistan-reed-warbler.aspx) don't show an image.
