I recorded what will become Larry Merchant's signature moment, when, last night, without losing his dignity, he said to the raging Floyd Mayweather, after his infamous but legal sucker punch, what most boxing fans would love to have said to him, at a minimum. But HBO kept challenging the Youtube video I was working from and I'm not sure I have the exact quote. Somebody should record the whole exchange. It's the only thing Mayweather has ever done which will make him remembered after he retires. The sparring match with Merchant is more famous than any of his lackluster fights, and will probably be in FM's obit. Profhum (talk) 18:40, 18 September 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Any reason why there is nothing on LM's early life? It's been said numerous times (following his clash with Mayweather) that LM was a star half back at Oklahoma. I feel like that alone should be on here. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 166.250.2.40 (talk) 06:34, 12 May 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Is the last sentence on his Career section really necessary? Feels a bit masturbatory for fanatics of Donald Trump more than something relevant for Larry Merchant's Wikipedia page considering that over his 30+ career no other celebrity interview is mentioned. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 98.148.213.246 (talk) 21:55, 5 June 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Same Larry Marchant that Nikki Haley cheated with on her husband?[edit]

Seems notable. 204.237.88.253 (talk) 00:29, 22 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]
