Why are there talks about Czech universities ??
View_of_Quebec_City_from_Parent_building_on_Laval_University_campus.jpg would have to be scaled down if it is not to be shown as "thumb", which would definitely be much better. (For someone else to do.) --Valmi 01:55, 8 Sep 2004 (UTC)
"60 different species of birds, and 15 animal species."
What does that mean "15 animal species" ? Considering the insects and other invertebrates there's far more species of animals in my backyard.
Moving this page?
- I would say so; it's a French-language University, that is its official name, and it's known to far more people under that name than by the English translation (partly because it's known to many more people in Québec than the rest of Canada, and partly because material appearing elsewhere in the world - pamphlets for the FNF program, for instance - say "Université Laval" even when the text is in English or another language). Since there is only a redirect to here at Université Laval, it should be possible for any logged-in user to move the page there (along with this Talk page). - toh 2005 June 29 21:04 (UTC)
- OK, all the other French language universities in Quebec have their French name so this one should too. It will be moved. Paul99 30 June 2005 01:59 (UTC)
- While I agree, I think you should formally request a move so that other editors may chime in. Permafrost46 (talk) 18:09, 3 June 2014 (UTC)
Higher learning instead of university
Maybe the first line should say "Université Laval (Laval University) is the oldest institution of higher learning in Canada" instead of "Université Laval (Laval University) is the oldest university in Canada" because, as the article says, the Séminaire de Québec only became the Université Laval in 1852, 189 years after its foundation. -- Mathieugp 19:11, 1 January 2006 (UTC)
