Paul Cohen[edit]

I removed the Paul Cohen link, as the linked Paul Cohen is not the right one.

Is he this guy: Paul Cohen (saxophonist)? Also, Downs was on the cover of Sing Out winter '02 (note to self to reread article)[1] -MrFizyx 04:12, 29 July 2006 (UTC)
OK Paul Cohen (saxophonist) appears to be the guy pictured here, almost certainly not Lila Down's collaborator. I'm looking at a picture of the other one, "Down's" Paul Cohen, saxophonist in the liner notes of Down's La Cantina and he is a thinner faced man with wire rim glasses and a trim goatee. On that album he is credited with clarinet, music programming, arrangements and is the Executive Producer. On La Sandunga credits are for tenor sax, piano, and arrangements. He is included in this interview here. For now leaving him as a red linked Paul Cohen (musician) seems reasonable until someone can find a bit more to go on, but I'll add him to the Paul Cohen disambig. -MrFizyx 03:34, 30 July 2006 (UTC)

CITIZENSHIP[edit]

SHE IS FROM U.S.A. TOO BECAUSE HIS FAHER IS FROMTHE U.S.A. NOT ONLY MEXICAN —Preceding unsigned comment added by 189.146.251.184 (talk) 22:27, 27 December 2009 (UTC)

I think this poster was trying to say that she is what is now called "transnational" and therefore the whole article, which tries to treat her as a Mexican and can't bring it off, is missing the whole point. When more is written about Downs's transnational heritage, it will deserve a prominent place in this article. I'm not advocating Original Research, just an awareness when looking at the literature on Downs.Profhum (talk) 01:17, 12 January 2012 (UTC)

Social activism[edit]

Looks like the social activism section has been done by google translate or worse. That definitely needs editing by a native speaker. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 85.178.86.32 (talk) 13:32, 24 September 2011 (UTC)

Needs a lot of work[edit]

Auto translation causes great difficulties. I added some info and links from interviews-word from the subject's mouth-recorded audio in an attempt to correct enhance or make more understandable some of the entries. I took out some of the he instead of she from the auto translation and cleaned some of the other info to make it readable without altering the meaning-but this needs work research and more input. Research... because of the auto translation some of the statements are somewhat subjective and vague-quotes and facts would be clearer however needs research. I hope this is the right place to put this comment-if not please comment back to me-and apologies in advance.Nrgsave (talk) 00:49, 29 September 2011 (UTC)nrgsave
