Talk:Lionel Friedberg

I created this page because I cited Lionel Friedberg in another article. A search for him on the Web turns up numerous refs. to him as a cinematographer. There's quite a bit of recent material on the Net because of the Nov 2007 release of his latest film, A Sacred Duty: Applying Jewish Values to Heal the Earth, which opened in Israel and New York in Nov 2007 and was reviewed in Haaretz (Read article) and the Jerusalem Post (Read article).

Friedberg himself is Jewish -- I know this from meeting him personally and it is also stated numerous times on the Web -- here is one ref from the archives of the Jewish Vegetarians of North America newsletter, for whom he produced the above-mentioned film: [http://jewishveg.blogspot.com/2005_07_01_archive.html:

Here are my sources for this article:

[http://www.charlottelaws.org/DAW%20Bio%20-%20Lionel%20Friedberg.htm] for basic overview

[http://www.evana.org/index.php?id=19838&p=html] early press release for the Sacred Duty film project, has complete list of awards

[http://www.charlottelaws.org/DAW%20Bio%20-%20Lionel%20Friedberg.htm partial filmography

[http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0295002/] short bio, filmography, some awards

[http://movies.nytimes.com/person/160378/Lionel-Friedberg] more filmography refs

The filmography is incomplete -- although many other titles are in the awards list. (I figured it would be redundant to list them all twice???) So is the bio incomplete -- such as, I could not find the year he was born, any academic background, etc. Nor could i fgind the title of his book on South Africa. The whole article is just a beginning -- PLEASE add & edit. It also needs the various category tags etc. which I do not know how to do. Rooster613 (talk) 13:31, 11 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Also, I could not find a website for him... does he have a website???

Sourcing[edit]

RE: biographies of living persons, There is nothing controversial or libelous in this article, it is mostly a filmography. I'm not sure how to insert these sources on the page itself, since I merged info from several filmography websites. Is it sufficient to simply list the above sources at the bottom of the article? Or do I need to footnote each fact? 09:18, 1 March 2010 (UTC) —Preceding unsigned comment added by Rooster613 (talkcontribs)

Objection to proposed deletion[edit]

This aerticle was PRODed for deletion -- I object. This person is notable, the page has refs -- what's to object to? Rooster613 (talk) 22:54, 8 March 2011 (UTC)[reply]
