The majority of the characters that appeared in Dad's Army are not sufficiently individually notable to justify their own articles. As such, the following articles should be merged here: Lance-Corporal Jack Jones, ARP Warden William Hodges, Maurice Yeatman, Elizabeth Mainwaring, and Walmington-on-Sea Home Guard. I agree with most of these, although Jones is pretty much the third most important character, so even though his page is quite bad, his character is probably individually notable enough for his own page (I personally don't like character pages, so I wouldn't have any of them, but for consistancy, that ought to stay). I'm afraid I started the Hodges page! I think I'll merge some of Elizabeth Mainwaring into Captain Mainwaring. Bob talk 09:07, 26 September 2010 (UTC)[reply]
I disagree, but then you've gone ahead without any proper discussion and have barely merged any of the material. What exactly has been gained by deleting these articles? The fact that Jones was even mentioned as a possibility for deletion suggests a lack of proper thought. IXIA (talk) 22:32, 4 October 2010 (UTC)[reply]

I have a question about Mrs Yeatman. She's Anthea in the Bluebell episode and Tracey in the St George and the dragon episode. Does she have any other names in other episodes? (julieanne1811) — Preceding unsigned comment added by Julieanne1811 (talkcontribs) 18:44, 24 June 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Mistake in Hodges age[edit]

"Hodges (Bill Pertwee) was born in July 1926 and is Mainwaring's main rival..."

He cannot possibly have been born in 1926, that would make him four years younger than Pike and only 13 when the war broke out. I don't know how old he actually is or how the date was retrieved, but perhaps someone does know and can change it? — Preceding unsigned comment added by 79.216.95.77 (talk) 05:59, 21 July 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Agreed. I've deleted it. -- Dr Greg  talk  18:13, 21 July 2015 (UTC)[reply]
