Races contested[edit]

Why does this article not mention the amount of poles out of races contested?

I.e. Schumacher scored 68 poles and Senna 65 but Schumacher took 11 more years and 282 races to do it, while Senna did it in 161? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 83.161.252.227 (talk) 03:21, 24 March 2011 (UTC)[reply]

1982[edit]

Hello I'm new here. I can't do anything, but I guess I notised small mistake. In 1982 there is only Prost with 5 poles. Rene Arnoux got also 5 poles. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Juha Kärkkäinen (talkcontribs)

Schumacher: Last pole Monaco 2012[edit]

I think it should be Monacto 2012 for Schumacher's last pole. He got a grid penalty in that race, but he won the qualifying, so it would be fair to count that pole position for him. The grid penalty was not related to the Qualifying in Monaco. Chaptagai (talk) 21:05, 9 April 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Wikipedia is obliged to follow what reliable sources say. Every source I'm aware of identifies Webber as the polesitter at that race, not Schumacher (there is no dispute that Schumacher set the fastest time in qualifying, but they do not identify him as the polesitter). Opening paragraph[edit]

Seems to me it would be appropriate to change 'started in first' to 'started on pole' in the following sentence. "Out of the 1,102 completed Grands Prix (as of the 2024 Bahrain Grand Prix), the driver that has started in first has gone on to win the race 471 times." The article is about poles after all. What do you think? Mickey Smiths (talk) 05:37, 5 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]
