Janos[edit]

When it says he was introduced in SR2 does that mean when he actually appears in person or speaks? I was playing defiance and when it mentioned the Heart of Darkness I remember from when I played Blood Omen that I think it mentions Janos Audren in the description for that item. Does that count, or are we talking about more than mentioning them? If we could consider him introduced in the first game then we wouldn't even need a SR2 section since he's the only one there. Tyciol (talk) 23:58, 22 October 2009 (UTC)

Janos makes his first actual physical appearance in Soul Reaver 2. He is only mentioned in Blood Omen 1, long since dead, and there isn't a word of him in Soul Reaver 1. I'd say leave him where he is, since trivial mentions aren't exactly significant (otherwise you could contend that Walter Sullivan was introduced in Silent Hill 2, et al). --Monere (talk) 22:34, 23 October 2009 (UTC)
Though I agree with what you're saying, doesn't this mean that Hash'ak'gik should be listed in the section about characters that were first seen in Blood Omen 2? Robo37 (talk) 09:57, 29 October 2009 (UTC)
Not quite since Hash'ak'gik is extensively mentioned in BO1 and has an active presence. A lot of the time, he in charge of Mortanius' body and indirectly orchestrates, more or less, the events of the entire game. For a long time most people were certain the demon was Hash'ak'gik himself. On the other hand, the only activity Janos is known to be working on in BO1 is "festering as a corpse". --Monere (talk) 17:02, 31 October 2009 (UTC)
True, but in BO1 he is never actually seen in the flesh... at least not as he is shown in that picture. Robo37 (talk) 19:08, 31 October 2009 (UTC)
You can move him down to BO2 if you wish, but the character of Hash'ak'gik is introduced in BO1 as the Unspoken and does ultimately have an important, active role in the game. Janos isn't really quite introduced in BO1 since he's dead. --Monere (talk) 23:48, 31 October 2009 (UTC)
Hmmm I think I'll leave Janos there for now, I just think that the criteria for where the characters are listed could be a little better defined. Robo37 (talk) 08:25, 1 November 2009 (UTC)

Turelim[edit]

I was wondering, do you think they should have a separate description we can direct this word to, or should it just redirect to Turel's description? The reason I ask is that the Turelim are also mentioned twice under Morlock's description so it might be useful to do an overview of the clan as a whole. Perhaps there should be a separate section to describe the various clans and orders separately from the individual characters? Tyciol (talk) 00:46, 23 October 2009 (UTC)

For now you should probably just redirect it to Turel. When I get around to improving this article, if someone else doesn't, I will tweak Turel's description to actually explain what the Turelim are. Since they aren't characters per se, sections for each individual clan would be more appropriate for a Nosgoth article, but we had one and it was deleted for low notability. --Monere (talk) 22:34, 23 October 2009 (UTC)
Yeah as this article is a list of characters there shouldn't really be any sections that are about anything other than characters, and a brand new article on the subject doesn't at all sound notable and is likely to have no more than a paragraph or two on the subject. Putting the information about this under Turel sounds like the best option. Robo37 (talk) 09:57, 29 October 2009 (UTC)

Princess[edit]

Does anyone know how we should refer to the daughter of King Ottmar in the original game? I am thinking Princess of Willendorf. The king was central enough for a description, I added some info on the dollmaker I hope we can expand because he seems central to the plot. Seeing as how we don't even learn the princess's name (or do we? I never got that far, faulty PS1 memory card) she may not be relevant enough to get her own section but gets a mention in these two's. I thought of Princess Ottmar but that wouldn't be it if Ottmar is the king's given name and not his surname. Does the game ever specify if it is first or last? That would be helpful in establishing this. Like, for example, would his full title be "King Ottmar of Willendorf" or is Willendorf possibly also the family's surname as well as the kingdom's name? In which case, he could be King Ottmar Willendorf and we could call her Princess Willendorf instead of Princess of Willendorf? Tyciol (talk) 03:40, 23 October 2009 (UTC)

No elaboration is ever given regarding Ottmar's title or surname. The only character in the series with a surname is Janos. LoK is quite vague on lore like that. As for the Princess, her name's not given, and I wonder if she even warrants an individual section, since she's probably the least noteworthy character in the series. She's only in one game, has no speaking part, a very minimal role, barely makes an appearance... there's not a lot to be said about her. Anyway, to call her anything other than the Princess of Willendorf would constitute conjecture. --Monere (talk) 22:34, 23 October 2009 (UTC)
As there seems to be sections about each of the other characters I agree with Tyciol on the basis that the Princess of Willendorf should be credited with her own article. She seems no less notable than Morlock and The Builder and they both have their own sections. Robo37 (talk) 09:57, 29 October 2009 (UTC)
She can't have an article of her own, but if you feel she's notable then I won't oppose giving her a section in this article. Be bold and create it if you like. I'm not going to right now, though. However, to be picky, "Morlock" actually spoke and had a role instead of sleeping through the whole game, and The Builder is especially important to the backstory despite his two-second appearance. --Monere (talk) 17:02, 31 October 2009 (UTC)
Sorry, that's what I meant to say, that she shouldn't have her own article - I put 'her own article' down instead of her own section by mistake. And I would make the section about her myself, except BO1 is the only game in the series that I don't have, so I wouldn’t know what to say. Robo37 (talk) 19:08, 31 October 2009 (UTC)

Zephon and the Silenced Cathedral[edit]

I was looking at Zephon's section when I saw something that i think may need clarification. It says the Silenced Cathedral itself was a weapon against the vampires, when it was actually the organ's blasts of sound. It helps explain why the Silenced Cathedral is silent in the first place. Anyone have any problems with me putting that tidbit in? Slay Victorous! (talk) 16:51, 6 August 2011 (UTC)
