Date format[edit]

Per this from Wikipedia:Manual of Style ("An article on a topic that has strong ties to a particular English-speaking nation should use the English of that nation. For example ... American Civil War (American English)"), given the strong national ties here, the day-first format is deprecated. See also here from Wikipedia:Manual of Style/Dates and numbers ("Articles on topics with strong ties to a particular English-speaking country should generally use the more common date format for that nation. For the United States, this is month before day... Articles related to Canada may use either format consistently."). It is also btw the format of the NCAA itself to have month first. And month-first is the format overwhelming used in the article.--Epeefleche (talk) 05:06, 15 January 2013 (UTC)[reply]

A further thought. Lots of good work is reflected in these articles. But some, this included, have a string of vertical photos, with a great amount of white space to their left, even before one gets to the table. I don't know how to do this, or might do it myself, but someone with better skills might consider having those photos appear horizontally across the page, rather than vertically, as I believe it would be more appealing to the eye, and allow the reader to get to the table more quickly, as they would not have to scroll down as far.
