Merge[edit]

This list was made separate from NOAC by consensus, when the NOAC article was merged with the OA article. Rlevse 18:45, 22 March 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Additional Source[edit]

Add information from "Guide ofr Officers and Advisers" (PDF). 2006. and combine into one table. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Naraht (talkcontribs) 22:04, 27 March 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Suggestions[edit]

Looking good. Some suggestions:

  • Was it National Lodge or Grand Lodge?
  • Needs explanation of why NOAC replaced the National Lodge meetings
  • What is the National Indian Seminar? National Pow Wow? Retreat? etc?
  • The number column does not really make sense when all the events are in one table
  • The theme column is also used for notes
  • Cleanup dates: October 6, 1922 – October 7, 1922 → October 6–7, 1922 (ndash between numbers)
  • Don't use superscript ordinals

  • Grand Lodge was more common, especially in the earlier days. Most of the references to the meetings as National Lodge Meetings are from more modern writeups looking back, my guess is to give a slightly less Masonic feel. I actually considered asking over on the Order of the Arrow page to see which was prefered, but the balance kept tilting toward Grand Lodge.
  • The change occured when OA became an actual part of BSA. But it probably needs an explanation.
  • I'll try to find explanations on the events, but someone actually in OA might have more idea.
  • The Numbers restart when it goes from GLM to NOAC. I was considering putting in the numbers for the Jamborees as well. And *possibly* the National Indian Seminar. It seemed key to include the information that the NOACs started from 1948 in their counting.
  • I either need to change the title to Theme/notes or move the Activities to footnotes, Ideas?
  • The dates are done deliberately with the dts2 template to allow the field to be sorted. Especially since my research has revealed that there may have been years with multiple National events. Nothing strong enough to be included. Using dates iin a form like you have suggested makes the column unsortable.
  • The only Superscript ordinal that I used is for ArrowCorps5 where the superscripted 5 is actually part of the official name. See http://www.main.oa-bsa.org/events/arrowcorps5/index.php?p=info

Thank you for the help, I asked you and Delmont43 to comment since you are about the only registered active users to make changes in the last year prior to this expansion. Naraht (talk) 00:58, 1 April 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Whoops, missed the superscripted 100th and such. That section of the article wasn't changed by me. Thanx for the catch.Naraht (talk) 12:13, 1 April 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Agree with many of your comments. I'll see if I can describe the other event types.

Organization[edit]

Should descriptions of events listed here be at Order of the Arrow#Events? Or should this page be National events of the Order of the Arrow, more like High adventure programs of the Order of the Arrow?
 Delmont43 Talk  18:28, 5 April 2009 (UTC)[reply]

I have no problem with the move. I think the descriptions perhaps should be in both places.Naraht (talk) 13:46, 6 April 2009 (UTC)[reply]

The above=referenced cite was never archived and doesn't make sense today. Anyone know how to fix it? --evrik (talk) 19:08, 30 September 2019 (UTC)[reply]
