[edit] Tobuscus?

28th most subscribed all time:[1] (citation of popularity). He's more popular than half of these YouTubers. Bwastphemy! — Preceding unsigned comment added by 67.87.108.12 (talk) 04:01, 6 July 2011 (UTC)

Popular is not the same thing as notable perhaps if you read the notability guidelines and find some reliable third party sources defending his notability he can be added to the list, but being popular alone is not grounds for inclusion. - CitizenofPanem (talk) 15:41, 13 July 2011 (UTC)
Well he has over 1 million subscribers and was also the main interviwer of Ubisoft in the E3 2011. He made the "Literal Trailers" of games like Assassin's Creed or Dead Space and movies like Pirates of the Caribbean: On stranger tides and Tron Legacy. Some of his videos are sponsored by companies like Mountain Dew and Wonderful Pistachios. I think these achievements make him worth of getting into this list and also of getting a wikipedia article — Preceding unsigned comment added by 186.207.153.12 (talk) 00:21, 23 July 2011 (UTC)
We've had this argument on here more than enough times. I think Toby should be an exception and be let on the list, because it's true, it's freaking hard to be on YouTube and not know about him. He's done advertising for a gazillion different products and companies, he's a partner with Ubisoft and does a freaking ton of interviews with him, he's just... everyone knows about him! --Arkatox (talk) 21:44, 3 August 2011 (UTC)
This article says nothing about notable Youtubers only. Just celebrities. And what makes Toby less notable than, say, Katers17? She's one of my favorites but she's nothing at all special. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 67.87.108.12 (talk) 03:03, 13 August 2011 (UTC)

Toby Turner not notable? Have you been living under a rock? Toby Turner is every bit as notable as Craig, Kate and Cory, all of which I'm subscribed to. Sure, Cory did the Mean Kitty Song, but Toby does similar things except in the form of trailer parodies. He has four different regularly updated channels all with a combined subscriber count of over 1.7 million. Tobuscus with 1 million subs, TobyTurner and TobyGames both with over 300,000, and CuteWinFail which has 100,000. His videos appeared in places other than Youtube, he's partnered with Ubisoft, nearly everyone on Youtube knows who he is, and you say he's not notable? What kind of backwards, 2-bit mentality is "Popularity =/= notability?" The reason why these Youtube personalities are notable is BECAUSE they're popular. What, is it because he doesn't have a news article mentioning him? What a black and white, mechanical, shallow presumption. I'm genuinely offended. SkaarjGuy (talk) 06:41, 19 August 2011 (UTC)

I would just like to say, I agree wholly and heartily with SkaarjGuy. I know people who aren't even regular visitors to YouTube who have heard of and seen Tobuscus' videos. Saying Tobuscus is not a YouTube Celebrity is like saying Johnny Depp isn't an Actor Celebrity. Seriously, he's that big on YouTube. --Arkatox (talk) 00:37, 4 September 2011 (UTC)
Look, It really does not matter what you think of him personally, in order for him to be added to the list you have to provide at least one reliable source which gives significant evidence as to why he is notable. Wikipedia is an encyclopedia, it's editors have to remain unbiased on the topics they are writing about, so I can not add him to the list because you think he deserves it, that kind of frivolous editing is what makes people distrust Wikipedia. I'm not saying that he is not notable in fact I mostly agree that he is but that is not the point, you have no sources to back up his notability, there is no proof, and so we cannot post it. You are all free to look for sources to back up your opinion but as of now he cannot be added to the list. I hope that clears things up. CitizenofPanem (talk) 22:56, 10 October 2011 (UTC)
Toby was just hired by Gamestop to do a TV Spot for Assassin's Creed: Revelations. Apparently he must be pretty notable if Gamestop, a massive game distributor company, took notice of him. I say add him now. SkaarjGuy (talk) — Preceding unsigned comment added by 75.178.5.210 (talk) 13:59, 23 October 2011 (UTC)
Add him now please, he has thousands of videos with millions of views. He recently got onto a gamestop commercial. He has 3 channels offering a diversity of tons of videos. The fact that people here say he's not popular enough is bogus. TobyTurner channel:#6 - Most Subscribed (All Time) - Reporters.Tobuscus channel:#28 - Most Subscribed (All Time).Whats he got to do make a video of himself marching in a parade with the leaders of the world while breaking every record in guineas. Come on ad him you cant not add him because you dont like him CitizenofPanem.Otherwise i'll do it in horrible formatting because I dont know how to. http://www.youtube.com/channels?p=1&s=ms&gl=&t=a&g=3 #11 all time director, http://www.youtube.com/channels?p=2&s=ms&gl=&t=a&g=0 #28 subscribed all time, that citation enough for you — Preceding unsigned comment added by Beagle bond (talkcontribs) 00:11, 24 October 2011 (UTC)

──────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────── We need reliable sources (i.e. news sources) that discuss him to a reasonable extent, just like everyone else that is on this list. "Popularity" doesn't mean anything. This isn't a list of the most popular Youtubers, it is a list of Youtube "personalities", people that the media has noticed and commented on. Find some sort of reliable source that discusses Tobuscus and he will be added, as simple as that. SilverserenC 23:00, 11 November 2011 (UTC)

Son of a female duck! I come back here after how much time and Tobuscus still hasn't been added? You apparently don't seem to know much about Tobuscus yourselves, moderators. I'm just saying that. --Arkatox (talk) 17:54, 20 December 2011 (UTC)

He was on E news as an interviewer for call of duty modern warfare 3. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 99.2.105.166 (talk) 20:40, 24 December 2011 (UTC)

We have yet to have a reliable source provided for this potential entry. Find one and he will be added. Simple as that. Mr. C.C.Hey yo!I didn't do it! 16:54, 31 December 2011 (UTC)

He got added!! — Preceding unsigned comment added by 99.2.105.166 (talk) 21:26, 9 January 2012 (UTC)

[edit] Bulk removal

(was Miss Hannah Minx)

What is the point of having it redirect to this list, and then not having her [Hannah Minx] on the list? 85.217.46.172 (talk) 06:21, 1 November 2011 (UTC)

Thats a good question, can somone clear this up? thanks.Millertime246 (talk) 17:19, 2 November 2011 (UTC)
Hannah Minx was added using two references in May 2010:[2] and removed last month:[3].
That edit removed Allen "Fluffee" Buckle (FLuffeetalks, FLuffee4thewin, ThisisFLuffee), Conor Maynard (skillzaisherebooya), Craig Benzine (wheezywaiter), Davin Tong (pyrobooby, PeterChaoTime, MrChaoNation), Hannah Minx (MissHannahMinx), Jemma Pixie Hixon (jemmahixon), Jonathan Paula, Jory Caron, Riley McIlwain (JPizzle1122), Josh Chomik (thecomputernerd01, JoshRocksGuitarHero), Jorge and Alexa Narvaez (realitychangers), KassemG (kassemg, kassemgtwo), Kate Elliott (Katers17, Katersoneseven), Kristina Horner (italktosnakes), Lankan Man (lankanman), Lindy Tsang (bubzbeauty, bubbisoity), Mitchell Davis (livelavalive), Natalie Di Luccio (nataliedi2), Skyy John (The Skyy John Show, SkyyJohn2, TipsyBartender), Stevie Ryan (stevieryan), Stuart Ashen (ashens), Tyler Ward (TylerWardMusic).
If you want to add Hannah Minx back, you will need to show sufficient substantial coverage in multiple reliable sources such that they can be considered to be notable. Although all had some mention in various news media, the level of coverage and reliability of the sources was questionable according to the editor who removed those entries. Fences&Windows 20:27, 10 November 2011 (UTC)
It is a problem, if all above mentioned have a redirect to this page. 85.217.20.33 (talk) 16:31, 19 November 2011 (UTC)
There are people far more notable than multiple people listed. But they pass because of one article presented. But the level of coverage needed to be considered truly notable is not enough to include them in this list. Mr. C.C.Hey yo!I didn't do it! 04:04, 30 December 2011 (UTC)
The point is, I think, that: when something is redirected, then it should be covered in that article. Some redirects are just synonym names, but this clearly is not. 85.217.42.126 (talk) 03:06, 14 February 2012 (UTC)

[edit] Add Tobuscus(review below sources for entry to list)

STOP IGNORING MY REQUEST I HAVE PMD ALMOST EVERY ADMN. WITH NO ANSWER. If it is enough to add him to the list do so, if it is not say why.Do your dang job I have had this up for months with no reply. And read the whole thing it has multiple sources citing reasons other than subscribers for his entry on this list.

I need to know if the sources I provide are credible and warrant an add on to the list. I hope you guys don't mind but i'm starting a separate Toby Turner edit request because that one is so highly congested unless someone wants to clear it up. According to youtube is the number #27th most subscribed all time on his Tobuscus Channel. He has 1,377,545,Subscribers. Citation from youtube:http://www.youtube.com/channels?p=2&s=ms&gl=&t=a&g=0 He currently has more subscribers than RhettandLink,xBextahx, brownmarkfilms, etc. who are on this list. I know its not enough that he has 3 channels with each video getting from hundred of thousands to multiple millions of views apparently? He also got a gamestop commercial on live tv. Your telling me that being on tv and having more subscribers than a lot of these people makes him not notable? Please can somone here give me a better argument than I don't like him? He should be added asap. The source is YouTube which is highly reliable if that is not enough he has even more credentials on IMDb http://www.imdb.com/name/nm3333977/ He has really become popular among gamers and vlog watchers and is notable for the reasons mentioned above for more reasons than just viewership. His videos have even been hosted by major sites like ign http://www.ign.com/videos/2011/06/24/assassins-creed-revelations-literal-trailer NEWS STORY reliable source: business insider lists Toby due to his cute win fail series as the number 2 youtube rising star for 2011. http://www.businessinsider.com/rising-youtube-stars-2011-1#2-cute-win-fail-13 — Preceding unsigned comment added by Nicks king (talkcontribs) 02:06, 9 November 2011 (UTC)

You have yet to provide multiple reliable sources indicating how the subject meets notability criteria. Until you do that, the entry will not be added, period. OhNoitsJamie Talk 21:08, 29 December 2011 (UTC)

He has provided three different sources there from very reliable sites. Why does this not qualify? — Preceding unsigned comment added by 99.2.105.166 (talk) 15:42, 2 January 2012 (UTC)

[edit] Edit request reagrding Dragonborn Comes, 5 December 2011

First, I apologize I'm new to this, but you may disregard this request if it's not enough. Just thought I'd throw this up.

Judith de los Santos created a rendition of Jeremy Soule's "Dragonborm Comes" for the game Skyrim. She has received 1mil+ views plus coverage on these domains in a week:

This is not done as we need an article stating how is notable outside of YouTube. All they are doing is just embeding a video from YouTube. A new article is needed. Mr. C.C.Hey yo!I didn't do it! 04:01, 30 December 2011 (UTC)

[edit] Ray William Johnson

Ray William Johnson has three channels. All three channels are in the Top 100 Most Subscribed Channels list.

  1. RayWilliamJohnson (Equals Three, =3)
  2. Yourfavoritemartian (Band, Your Favorite Martian)
  3. BreakingNYC (Vlog, BreakingNYC/BreakingLA) — Preceding unsigned comment added by MonsterSpooon (talkcontribs) 00:24, 10 December 2011 (UTC)

[edit] Alphabetizing List

Would it make sense and make it easier to rifle through the list if it was alphabetized? I've been thinking about this for eons and wanted to get a consensus to see if it is worth doing. Mr. C.C.Hey yo!I didn't do it! 04:09, 30 December 2011 (UTC)

Ah, isn't it already? -- MSTR (Merry Christmas!) 04:12, 30 December 2011 (UTC)
I guess I wasn't clear... Instead of one long list, break it up into sections so we don't have to rifle through a myriad of names listed to find the exact spot to add another entry. Mr. C.C.Hey yo!I didn't do it! 04:26, 30 December 2011 (UTC)
So you mean like each letter is it's own section? If so, Agreed. -- MSTR (Merry Christmas!) 04:28, 30 December 2011 (UTC)
I also agree, if you have the time and energy to do it. We won't need a separate section for each letter but maybe for certain ranges (e.g. 0-9, A-F, G-L, M-R, S-Z). If you go with one section per letter, remember to replace the TOC with {{CompactTOC2}}. Regards SoWhy 23:27, 30 December 2011 (UTC)

Thanks for the support. Either way I do it, it seems better than one big long list. It will be less time consuming to rifle through. Mr. C.C.Hey yo!I didn't do it! 04:01, 31 December 2011 (UTC)

It is done. Anything I missed, which I did and was fixed, you can go ahead and do it. Mr. C.C.Hey yo!I didn't do it! 05:28, 2 January 2012 (UTC)

[edit] Eli Porter?

This notion of controversy is what's keeping me from saying "I deed it" when it comes to adding him.

(all kidding aside, a quick search does reveal the possibility of the existence of RSes - the lack of certainty on my part is due to the need to leave soon to go perform paying work rather than continue to fuck around on here)RadioKAOS (talk) 03:36, 14 January 2012 (UTC)
