Any plans to update these rankings from five years ago? I've read here in Japan that smoking rates have dropped year after year...currently 21.8%; the lowest ever. According to the Health Ministry here. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 180.22.53.2 (talk) 10:08, 28 January 2012 (UTC)

Hi, the external links to the WHO site is a broken link throwing up a 404 page. And as mentioned above, would like to get a hold of updated data as well. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 59.177.69.15 (talk) 03:30, 16 August 2012 (UTC)

Also, note that Egypt cannot possibly be on the list in two different places. -Ph7five 151.64.144.15 (talk) 09:15, 7 September 2012 (UTC)

USA and Australia of top importance?[edit]

Neither of these is top or bottom of the table, so what's the big deal? APW (talk) 06:40, 8 September 2012 (UTC)

It's probably because a lot of people on the English Wikipedia come from the US and Australia. Major countries such as the US should have a mention in the lead. Jolly Ω Janner 03:39, 17 July 2013 (UTC)

Could anybody explain the differences?[edit]

In French Wikipedia, Greece leads the list at 3017 cigarettes/year/adult. But where does the different data come from? --Tobias b köhler (talk) 14:11, 7 October 2013 (UTC)

Spain[edit]

Spain data would need to be adjusted to cover for all the fags Brits smuggle out of the country "when on holiday"...

Solomon Island info incorrect.. I used to sell cigarettes to them from Australia. What other stats are incorrect???[edit]

See above. That says it all. I could not believe the rankings. — Preceding unsigned comment added by DragonCricketer (talkcontribs) 21:28, 29 December 2014 (UTC)
