Talk:List of diplomatic missions of Canada
|WikiProject Canada / Governments||(Rated List-class, High-importance)|
Wow, took awhile to get all that info. I will be clarifying some sections (i.e. Australian Missions acting as Canadian Missions) As well as information on Missions which are assigned to more than one state - shortly.

Sorry, but this picture doesn't really add value to the article. While it is good to get photos from different kinds of missions, I think we should avoid pictures of plain brick walls, plaques or large buildings where an embassy is only one tennant. Kransky 01:40, 24 August 2007 (UTC)

Republic of China (Taiwan)
Canada does not have diplomatic relations (a pre-requiste for a diplomatic mission) with the Republic of China. Note the following:
"The Joint Communiquéon the Establishment of Diplomatic Relations between the Government of the People's Republic of China and the Government of Canada
In accordance with the principles of mutual respect for sovereignty and territorial integrity, non-interference in each other's internal affairs and equality and mutual benefit, the Government of the People's Republic ofChinaand the Government of Canada have decided to recognize each other and establish diplomatic relations as ofOctober 13, 1970.
The Chinese Government reiterates thatTaiwanis an inalienable part of the territory of the People's Republic ofChina.The Canadian Government takes note of this position of the Chinese Government.
The Canadian Government recognizes the Government of the People's Republic ofChinaas the sole legal government of China.
The Chinese and Canadian Governments have agreed to exchange ambassadors within six months and will provide all necessary assistance for the establishment of embassies in each other's capital and the discharging of their duties on the basis of equality and mutual benefit and in accordance with international practice."
A legend should be added, to indicate the meaning of the blue and red dots. Also, if possible, addition of a mouseover tooltip which shows the location of the diplomatic mission. NorthernThunder (talk) 13:00, 17 August 2011 (UTC)
John Baird, the foreign minister, announced the government is opening an embassy in Burma. Map and article should be updated.
