Clapham Common Referral[edit]

I amended the 'History' section, as this originally stated that the area in the Borough of Wandsworth to the west of Clapham Common was 'commonly' referred to as Clapham (not sure if that was a pun). I've amended this to state that it is 'incorrectly' referred to as Clapham, and cited the source of the boundaries of Battersea. Other things are similarly raised to clarify that Clapham Junction is also in Battersea. I could expand on this point and clarify that the confusion is generally caused by the fact that they renamed the common-land Clapham Common from Battersea East Heath, but this seems excessive.

Surely this ranks as start class rather than stub???--Lang rabbie 23:19, 3 April 2007 (UTC)

Agreed,and amended Paulbrock 23:24, 2 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Again ... sorry if there are any objections to the edits, things are slightly vague due to the lack of information from the Council. 86.143.182.5 (talk) 01:02, 24 November 2007 (UTC) Simon[reply]

So ... Aa1157 ... you're not biased either then? Simon —Preceding unsigned comment added by 83.217.125.226 (talk) 19:28, 17 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Landmarks[edit]

Is Battersea Power Station really in Clapham? I personally think this is wrong. It is very close to Battersea Power Station and next to what I would call 'old' Battersea. Any objections to changing this? Or some proof that the power station site is in Clapham? Gaffertape (talk) 16:57, 2 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Merger proposal[edit]

No consensus to merge. ninety:one 19:38, 14 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Wandsworth Parks Police failed with sizable minority support to merge here. The final !Votes were 6 keeps including 3 weak keeps; 1 neutral; 2 deletes; and 3 to redirect here. Plus, the non-!voting admin strongly disagreed with the "keep" outcome so that's probalby another delete. That's a !vote of 6 keeps and 6 who favor some form of removing the existing article under that name, and 1 neutral. davidwr/(talk)/(contribs)/(e-mail) 19:11, 1 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]

  • I strongly support the article is left where it is and vote that it is not merged. TopCat666 (talk) 20:29, 1 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]
  • I strongly support leaving the article where it is, and also vote not to merge. Mowthegrass (talk) 16:46, 2 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]
  • I don't think this article should be merged, but at the moment it is factually incorrect. i suggest everyone reads the report written for newham [1], it quite clearly sets out the status of officers appointed under the Ministry of Housing and Local Government Provisional Order Confirmation (Greater London Parks and Open Spaces) Act 1967.
  • I strongly support leaving the article where it is, and I vote NOT to merge. Chris Golds (talk) 18:19, 3 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Current Mayor[edit]

The link does not appear to have anything to do directly with the named mayor. Jackiespeel (talk) 23:36, 14 March 2015 (UTC)[reply]

... and there's a new mayor too.  Done NebY (talk) 08:19, 15 March 2015 (UTC)[reply]

pronunciation[edit]

i honestly think that the ipa phonological transcription (between "//") should be accompanied by a pure phonetic one with a non-rhotic realisation ˈwɒndzwɜːθ for the sake of informativeness. Sacdegemecs (talk) 20:56, 7 March 2017 (UTC)[reply]
