Limited to genres?[edit]

What does "mostly in the fields of metal, rock, and jazz" mean? Either the list is limited to certain genres, or it isn't. Personally, I see no reason to exclude keyboard players from any genre except classical pianists, who have their own list. 213.119.26.53 (talk) 02:18, 7 January 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Fictional characters[edit]

Missing keyboardists[edit]

There are some keyboardists missing from this list. One is Amy Lee of Evanescence-although Lee plays mostly piano, I know she can play organ too, and probably synthesizer as well. Another is Linda McCartney of Wings, although she is probably not notable at all. And finally, also missing is Ian Stewart of The Rolling Stones and I really think he should be included here if he is notable enough.--Kevjgav (talk) 14:17, 29 November 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Must I add that another keyboardist missing is Brian Wilson of The Beach Boys. It doesn't make sense to me why the list includes fictitious musicians like 2D and Otis Lee Crenshaw, but not Ian Stewart, Amy Lee or Brian Wilson. Although Amy Lee of Evanescence, Ian Stewart of The Rolling Stones, and Brian Wilson of The Beach Boys are mostly piano, all have been known to play at least one other keyboard instrument. All have been known to occasionally play organ (Amy Lee on a Hammond-Suzuki New B-3, Ian Stewart on a Hammond B-3 and Brian Wilson on a Baldwin HT2R.)--Kevjgav (talk) 19:28, 10 March 2015 (UTC)[reply]

add "Spooner Oldham" and "Earl Van Dyke"[edit]

I just added Spooner Oldham of Muscle Shoals Rhythm Section and Earl Van Dyke of The Funk Brothers. Again, I'm well aware of the guidelines but other names have been added without citations. I also made note that in addition to The Rolling Stones and Jeff Beck, Nicky Hopkins also played keyboards in John Lennon's Plastic Ono Band. I also added Kenneth Ascher who was another keyboardist of the Plastic Ono Band. I can't stress enough that I'm well aware of the living people/lists of people guidelines. Add "Glenn Frey" and "Joe Walsh" of The Eagles[edit]

Glenn Frey played piano in Desperado and clavinet in Life in the Fast Lane and Joe Walsh played the Fender Rhodes piano and Hammond organ in New Kid in Town. Both these musicians played keyboards in The Eagles.--Kevjgav (talk) 09:40, 21 October 2015 (UTC)[reply]
