Vice Presidents[edit]

There is no vice president in the LDS Church. The gentlemen listed in that section are President of the Quorum of the Twelve Apostles, and are already listed better in that article. -- 208.81.184.4 (talk) 21:15, 28 January 2013 (UTC)[reply]

More Sections?[edit]

This list looks like it could use more sections so I thought I would add some suggestions:

  • Counselors
  • Famous Quote
  • Length of service as a general authority
  • Signature
  • Previous position

If you think any of these merit a section please feel free to say so. Eatmark (talk) 03:58, 21 July 2013 (UTC)Eatmark[reply]

While I applaud the thought process of seeking to make this better, I actually wouldn't feel it would be helpful to add any of these. This article is just a listing, so some additional info is nice (as currently shown), but one thing is that the table would become too busy too quickly. However, the main thing is to keep in mind that this is an encyclopedic article, so things such as a famous quote would be arbitrary and not fact based. Counselors would get tricky. Just because recent church presidents would be somewhat easier to list due to fewer in number, that wasn't typically the case, even up through David O. McKay. There could be a "see also" or reference link added to the page, perhaps something like Chronology of the First Presidency (LDS Church). Length of service as a general authority is not relevant to this topic - and if people are interested in more info they'll go to the regular article about the individual. For all but Joseph Smith, the previous position was the same for each of them - President of the Quorum of the Twelve (although they may have also been a counselor in the First Presidency as well). Anyway, this may sound stronger than I intend, but also wanted to provide some reasoning why (or why not) on several of the suggestions. ChristensenMJ (talk) 07:46, 21 July 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Can the word "ordination" be changed to something else?[edit]

It appears that the first four presidents of the Church were never ordained. I think the best approach would to leave "ordained" as that is the current approach and has been for the great majority, and then put a footnote with this reference by the first four presidents. Bahooka (talk) 19:22, 13 January 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Title capitalization[edit]

The title of this article, along with a provision at MOS:LDS, violates MOS:THEINST, a site-wide guideline which trumps WP:LOCALCONSENSUS. Please participate in the discussion at Wikipedia talk:Manual of Style/Latter Day Saints § Capitalization issue. Thanks. InfiniteNexus (talk) 05:12, 27 September 2022 (UTC)[reply]
