I just wanted to advise that it is my intent to delete the summer villages section from this article and create an article entitled "Summer Villages of Alberta" as summer villages are not a subset of villages in Alberta. They are separate municipal statuses and are quite different than a conventional village. The mere fact that both statuses include the term "village" is not sufficient for summer villages to be included in the "Villages of Alberta" article. If anyone has any comments, please advise. I intend to implement the above at some point before the new year. Cheers, --Hwy43 (talk) 10:43, 19 December 2009 (UTC)
Ah yes, I saw this once previously and forgot about it. I'll improve this article instead of creating a new article and propose to rename it to "Summer villages of Alberta" to be consistent with the naming convention used for the "Villages of Alberta" article. The result of the move request was: page moved. Vegaswikian (talk) 02:38, 4 May 2010 (UTC)
Alternately, all Alberta community-related list articles could be moved using the article naming convention of List of Alberta X, where X = the community type. --Hwy43 (talk) 01:59, 27 April 2010 (UTC)
I support designated places (because I forgot it needed to be moved too). But I oppose specialized municipalities, with a list of five, it is more content then it is a list. Municipal districts and Indian reserves are areas rather than communities, and I don't think it needs to follow the same conventions. 117Avenue (talk) 04:48, 27 April 2010 (UTC)
Specialized municipalities: agree for the time being until such time as more municipalities in Alberta change their status to specialized municipality.
Municipal districts and Indian reserves: disagree based on the recent discussion associated with renaming List of communities in Alberta. It was determined that communities was the appropriate overarching term to describe all the municipalities and unincorporated places listed within that article. As such, they should be subject to the same conventions to be consistent with the other Alberta municipality lists proposed for moves and with the content of List of communities in Alberta. Municipal districts and Indian reserves are rural communities that are large in area and small population densities while cities, towns, villages and summer villages are urban communities that are smaller in area and have larger population densites, in comparison. --Hwy43 (talk) 02:46, 30 April 2010 (UTC)
