Recording was available on bootlegs long before the offical release.

It didn't just circulate "for many years" secretly being traded "just amongst a small group of fans who knew of its existence", - some tracks from the concert (mostly Joe with Mick Jones) appeared on bootleg vinyl around 2004 (some widely available on ebay &/or sold on what had previously been Joe Strummer's offical website) shortly followed by a cd boot of the full concert. 79.73.68.44 (talk) 02:02, 10 April 2023 (UTC)

What's the source for it being recorded by fans who knew Mick was going to be there and thought an onstage reunion was going to happen?

Don't remember seeing anything like that on the Joe/Clash message boards or other coverage of the gig, i recall people inc. major fans, being amazed/excited that it had happened and Mick Jones saying in an interview that he hadn't even planned going on stage, it was totally spur of the moment. Only coverage/discussion I remember seeing any where re a possible Clash members reunion was re wether the band would reform for their Rock And Roll hall Of Fame induction the next year (2003). 79.73.68.44 (talk) 02:13, 10 April 2023 (UTC)
