Photo out of date[edit]

that photo was taken in 2004. Ludacris has shaven off his cornrows for a fade look in 2006, you know? could someone upload a more recent photo???

Plz More Vandalism =[edit]

http://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Ludacris&oldid=129032243

The above link is an example of alot of mischief. First off, a lot of information is deleted, even the key facts. Second, Bryan Mullens is not the father of Ludacris. His name is Wayne.

Opinion and Hearsay[edit]

The section that says "the industry's shady, it needs to be taken over" and how it may be an attack on Shady/Eminem is stupid. That line was actually taken from the Jay-Z song, "Izzo". Was Jay-Z attacking Shady/Eminem? It needs deletion? Anyone? He wasn't attacking Em. It was comfired sometime in '02 and besides, why would he diss someone on his album, in fact the ONLY guest appearance on his album. And Luda was just givin props to Jay

Misspelling[edit]

Does he really spell his name "Ludacris", or is it "Ludicrous"? --NoPetrol 03:07, 17 Dec 2004 (UTC) It's Definitely Ludacris

Everybody knows that it is Ludacris

I want to know how he feels about his name now that 90% of people misspell "Ludicrous" as "Ludacris" thereby destroying his pun.24.33.28.52 17:19, 29 May 2006 (UTC)

--I'd be curious about that too; it's a shame, because it's a fairly clever pun and people who can't spell 'ludicrous' in the first place won't get it since they think that's how the word is spelled. I doubt it's 90%, but I get what you're saying--obviously the number is too large whatever it is. Arabhorse 01:49, 9 May 2007 (UTC)

Roll out[edit]

Where is roll out on his discography? And why is the line I got my twin GLOCK .40s, cocked back blured out. Why is cocked back blurred, what does it mean. How about 'GLOCK'. What does it mean?

A glock is a type of gun. Cocking a gun is part of preparng it to fire, immediately before firing. Yanksta x 20:27, 30 January 2006 (UTC)

And if you're going to be correct, it isn't a type of gun, it's a brand of firearm. A gun is a massive cannon that you find on warships. However, that it's blurred out is probably because Chris the college geek sounds totally "rediculis" claiming that he even knows why a university graduate suburban wine taster would even have anything to do with firearms. If he wasn't black he couldn't get away with it. And frankly, that the listener above doesn't even know what a Glock is, is exactly what I would expect from a Christopher Bridges fan. You have to know nothing about life to respect this fascist impostor. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 87.254.81.209 (talk) 03:15, 13 January 2008 (UTC)

Acting Career[edit]

There's nothing about him as an actor though (except for the films he was in).

Ok, so tom cruise, Bono, Dave matthews, eminem, jessica beil, etc, actors and musicians respectively, dont have their ethnicities mentioned in the opening of their articles, why is it necessary to note that Ludacris is african american? If we're going to be consistent, should we start adding "white" or "causasian" to all the others, or just remove "african american" from this one? thoughts?

^^Minorities on wikipedia are generally noted as such. It is assumed that a person is caucasian if nothing is put there, that's why theres no need to do it.

IS Wikipedia an american project? I thought its worldwide. And in the real world, whites arent really a majority. From a World POV your statement doesnt make sense.Dizzee ignorant 22:42, 9 May 2006 (UTC)

That's exactly the problem. By writing as if white males are the default for society, one is reinforcing the assumption.

When it comes to hip hop or rap music, ethnicity of the artist does matter. For most celebrities, it doesn't really matter what their ethnicity is. I'm a little shocked eminem's ethnicity isn't mentioned, but I don't really think it is a massive issue that needs changing. Most celebrities have pictures anyways. I don't think it has much to do with what the writer perceived as "normal" especially since normal for rappers is African American.

Also, at the end of the "Red Light District" section, it begins to digress. That should be in a diff. section

wat about disturbin tha peace the album

Bias B.S.[edit]

"In a 2006 interview with Gentlemen's Quarterly, Ludacris criticized Oprah about his appearance on her show recently. He felt that Oprah had no right to discuss his music since he felt he was now more famous for his acting gigs, and he further demanded that Oprah respect his music despite the fact that his music disrespects black women by calling them bitches. Ludacris was one of many rappers to appear on the talk show including LL Cool J, Will Smith, Queen Latifah, Sean Combs (Diddy) and Kanye West. Many felt Ludacris was attacking Oprah as a publicity stunt, and because he was too cowardly to attack Bill O'reilly who actually does have a problem with hip-hop." Untill Ludacris attacked Bill O'reilly in numerous songs.

^^^^ whoever wrote this needs to kill themselves really. I changed the majority of it to make it less biased and read more like an actual article. Richard Corey 15:06, 30 June 2006 (UTC)

Tone[edit]

This article is pretty good, but it really needs editing based on its tone--it doesn't sound like an encyclopedia article--the grammatical errors and personal notes, as well as a part titled "Beef," distract from the article itself.--Nate 01:48, 14 July 2006 (UTC)

I completely agree. Using his nickname (Luda) is another example that makes this article look unprofessional. Dsnider 23:33, 14 January 2007 (UTC)

I fixed all the "Luda" uses in this article. Obviously the whole article needs work from a serious editor before this will be anywhere near quality for a feature article. It would also be nice if someone could find a picture of Ludacris that can be posted on here legally. Dsnider 23:39, 14 January 2007 (UTC)

Charity[edit]

I heard that Ludacris is incredibly generous (particularly towards organizations that help underpriveledged children around Atlanta). I have also heard that the mayor of Atlanta declared a day "Ludacris Day" day for all of his philanthropy in the community. If anyone knows more about this I think that its inclusion would improve this article! TronNDoE 06:00, 29 September 2006 (UTC)

Problem with the trivia section[edit]

"Ludacris is a pun on the term ludicrous."
This is a "misspelling" as opposed to a "pun".

- No.. it's a pun. His name is Chris hence ludaCRIS. Different pronounciation than ludacrous.

Contribution[edit]

Yo I contributed for technique, and pre-release therapy.

Thanks man, but we aren't allowed a technique section because it will always be deleted by admins and major editors, I noticed the 5000 watts guy GJ --Maniac lonestar 04:56, 3 May 2007 (UTC)

Disputes[edit]

In the disputes section, in the first sentence under Bill O'Reilly. "Furthering the Pepsi controversy..." Is it possible to get some clarification about this? It almost seems as though the whole Bill O'Reilly part depends on a missing section.

I agree, I was just reading this article and have no idea about any Pepsi controversy. It seems as though the article is referencing another one, entitled "Pepsi-Ludacris controversy", which I couldn't find.

This section seems incredibly bias. We need to keep this section neutral regardless of political feelings towards Bill OReilly and Ludacris. No reason is given why OReilly has a problem with Ludacris, just simply says doesn't like lyrics.

  1. exactly why im here,what pepsi controversy..HUH?

Intro Paragraph[edit]

"Ludacris is tied with Nelly for the title of the hip-hop solo artist with the second most Billboard Hot 100 number-one hits (four each)" Maybe this should include the person with the first most Billboard Hot 100 hits or at least a link to the WikiList of the artists?

Worldwide record sells. Trivia. Theater of the Mind[edit]

I think that every wikipedia article should include worldwide sells along with U.S. sells, because some articles include both and some don't and it gets fusturating looking for records sells to compare.

Where's the trivia? There used to be here.

There is no information on Ludacris' new album "Theater of the Mind". There is plenty of imformation of rumored tracks on the internet so you should put it here.

I agree, but um you do know that ALL of the rumored tracks aren't even rumors, they're 100 percent fake. LOL I know for sure, dont ask me tho.

Fair use rationale for Image:Ludacris.jpg[edit]

Image:Ludacris.jpg is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in this Wikipedia article constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If there is other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images uploaded after 4 May, 2006, and lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Ludawaste[edit]

Is this for real? The article switches between Ludacris and Ludawaste a number of times. What gives?

No Mention of Word of Mouf?[edit]

The article barely makes any mention of Word of Mouf, Ludacris's second major label album. December 29 2007 —Preceding unsigned comment added by 99.249.215.117 (talk) 00:10, 30 December 2007 (UTC)

Decatur?[edit]

Ludacris makes plenty of references to Decatur (in "Southern Hospitality" and the remix for "Dey Know" by Shawty Low). I know he was originally from Champaign, IL. Does anyone know if he's referencing Decatur, IL? And if so, why? Wikifried (talk) 10:18, 13 March 2008 (UTC)

No, he's referring to Decatur GA, it's a city in Metro Atlanta. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Decatur,_Georgia

backround info[edit]

Christopher Brian Bridges was born on September 11, 1977 in Champaign lllinois. He attended Oak Park River Forest High school in a northwest suburb of Chicago(ten minutes away from the west side of Chicago) for two years, having to use a family member's address to enroll in the school due to it being out of his neighborhood. His family then moved to College Park, a suburb of Atlanta, Georgia in 1993. He attended Banneker High school for his junior and senior years and later studied music management at Georgia State University. After college in 1998, he worked at a radio station as a DJ where he was successful. By the year 2000 he released his first album entitled Incogrnegro, later that same year he released Back for the First Time. Both albums rose on the charts even reaching as high as #4, not bad for a first album. In the next eight years Ludacris released six more albums and was nominated for several awards. He was nominated 40 times for awards from BET, to Grammies and even a SAG award. In 2003 he acted in a movie called 2 Fast 2 Furious and he also played parts in 3 video games called Def Jam. He also played part in a TV show called Eve and guest starred on Law & Order Special Victims Unit he even played himself in an episode of The Simpsons. At this point in his life, Ludacris has been focusing on his acting career. He was featured in three movies in 2008 including the hit movie Max Payne. He is currently working on a new moive entitled The Game which is due to come out in September of 2009. In the filmography, it puts down his role as being a main one in Fred Claus, though in reality he is only a minor, supporting character with little screentime. Please correct this error, as I'm too lazy to create an account. Many thanks. 213.202.146.199 (talk) 22:06, 6 January 2010 (UTC)
