Transfusion section[edit]

Hi

The transfusion section does not even mention Agote. It is merely a history of transfusion and should really be removed. Chaosdruid (talk) 10:15, 5 March 2011 (UTC)[reply]

First transfusion[edit]

The article appears to be in error about the claim that Agote was the first to perform a successful transfusion. Albert Hustin's transfusion was performed in March 1914, whereas Agote's was performed in November of the same year. The error appears to have been introduced into this article by Mfarah (talk · contribs)[1]. From his edit summary, it appears that Mfarah misunderstood why Agote's procedure was indicated as the first in the Americas, apparently not realising that the procedure's first time in the Americas was done later than the first in the world. I am therefore removing the incorrect claim.--Jeffro77 (talk) 08:42, 25 June 2014 (UTC) The Hustin´s transfusion wasn´t recorded, the only evidence was Hustin´s word. He claims to be the first after I World War and is was disputed also with Richard Lewisohn (Mount Sinai Hospital, 1915 according to him). Agote can offer more than 5 witness, Hustin can´t. Agote send telegrams to all the countries that were in war and explained the method in order to save lives. So the articule may be more balanced if you write that Agote was de first documented realising the procedure, I don´t think that Hustin lies, but in science the first is the one that publish the results. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 186.19.38.219 (talk) 04:47, 24 October 2014 (UTC)[reply]
