2006[edit]

Does the e need to be accented? That may be correct French, but I have not seen anything contemporary that write the e with an accent. --Manojb 19:54, 15 February 2006 (UTC)

Page moved[edit]

I have moved this page to its current location to disambiguate with Mahé, Seychelles, which is more notable by virtue of being the country's capital. --Blanchardb-MeMyEarsMyMouth-timed 17:59, 15 December 2007 (UTC)

Vandalism[edit]

Edits made by IP 117.196.133.184, making changes in the list of Municipal Councilors is an act of Vandalism,as the original names are substituted with some other names. The IP may be blocked.Mahesh Mangalat (talk) 08:03, 7 January 2009 (UTC)

Quality[edit]

There grammar on this page is not up to Wikipedia's standards at the moment. Gentleman wiki (talk) 04:08, 26 August 2009 (UTC)

Inclusion of Vellavil kesavan[edit]

I have added his name as he was the first Mayor of Mahe and was a freedom fighter. The input has been provided by his son, Anand. If there is any mistake, kindly excuse and revert the changes. Animaajit (talk) 06:31, 9 December 2011 (UTC)

Mahe Map[edit]

This map appears to be reversed as the 'west' Malabar coast is slanting in the wrong direction. It should slant from NW to SE.--Cstevencampbell (talk) 13:20, 4 April 2013 (UTC)

The map is of the Pondicherry sub-division, not of the Mahe sub-division. Compare to the map at http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/File:Pondicherry_map.png
Obviously, the map should be exchanged for the correct map.

Mahé, IndiaMayyazhi – Official name for all administrative purposes in now Mayyazhi.[1]
--Relisted.  — Amakuru (talk) 12:23, 21 November 2013 (UTC) Anish Viswa 10:06, 12 November 2013 (UTC)

  • Comment - the common name is probably Mahe rather than Mahé, based on a search for Mahe, India v Mahé, India (sorry I'm not certain how to interpret the google hits and don't know how the search engine deals with the accent). Imc (talk) 21:31, 20 November 2013 (UTC)
  • Oppose per WP:OFFICIALNAME without further evidence of usage change. Cf. Bengaluru which still languishes at Bangalore despite an official name change years ago. —  AjaxSmack  04:51, 23 November 2013 (UTC)
