MLS anthem[edit]

I added the below content at Branding Section.

The First official MLS Anthem was unveiled in 2007 and was composed by by Audiobrain—similar to other competitions from around the world. here are two versions of the MLS Anthem, an orchestral version on YouTube that is performed before every regular season game and an orchestral chorus version that is played before the MLS All-Star Game and MLS Cup.[1]

But SounderBruce (talk · contribs) reverted and reason is belows.

""Inappropriate inline external link, a poor citation, and improper capitalization.""

The deletion is too great for such a small mistake of wrighting.

Let's polish it.Footwiks (talk)

It simply does not need to be that long, nor should it have in-line external links. Preferably a non-league source would be best, since if it isn't covered by a reliable third-party outlet, it's hardly worth mentioning here. SounderBruce 23:30, 8 October 2022 (UTC)[reply]
OK. I added below simple sentence with only main point.
The first MLS anthem was unveiled in 2007 and was composed by Audiobrain.
Thanks for your advice.

Map needs to be corrected[edit]

Colors on the map are wrong for St. Louis and Nashville. Nashville has been shifted to the Eastern Conference for 2023 to allow St. Louis into the Western Conference. Missouri should be red and Tennessee blue. 9toedfreak (talk) 01:31, 28 February 2023 (UTC)[reply]

It's appearing correctly for me. Looking back at the file history for the map, seems like the previous version contained the error but it was fixed last November. oknazevad (talk) 21:12, 28 February 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Leagues Cup and Stats Table (Continental vs Other)[edit]

Where should the Leagues Cup be reported in the Stats table? I feel like it should be in the Other column as its not a true Continental competition (ala a Champions League). To me it’s more like the Campeones Cup (a MLS/LigaMX tourny as well) that we recorded in the Other column. RedPatch (talk) 11:24, 22 July 2023 (UTC)[reply]

I think “other” makes sense. It’s more like a league cup where every club participates. BLAIXX 15:22, 22 July 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Even other international competitions like UEFA super Cup get put in other, so putting in Other seems more consistent with what we do worldwide. Continental seems to be something you qualify for via domestic league, which this isn't. RedPatch (talk) 23:09, 22 July 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Messi[edit]

How is there no mention of Messi joining MLS on July 15th? 68.41.52.205 (talk) 00:06, 11 August 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Phoenix clubs[edit]

It's fairly confusing to see clubs 'founded' in 1975 only to click on the article to find they were founded in 2007 or similar. The date of the foundation of the current club should be used 80.194.54.138 (talk) 21:39, 19 October 2023 (UTC)[reply]

I can agree with that. "Claimed founding" years have been added and removed from this article several times. Some of the founding years are quite egregious too, particulary the four clubs claiming to have been founded in the 70s. All of those teams have had stretches of inactivity before a new team was founded with the same name (Vancouver: 1985–86, Portland: 1983–84, 1991–2000, Seattle: 1984–93, San Jose: 1989–95). BLAIXX 14:17, 20 October 2023 (UTC)[reply]
The teams and secondary sources use the NASL founding dates rather than the USL ones, so I don't think we should be making that call here. SounderBruce 04:45, 21 October 2023 (UTC)[reply]
None of the founding years are cited in that table so it's not really not clear to the reader where these numbers come from. Using Seattle as an example, most sources I see list 2007 as the founding date. I know the club is promoting "1974" with the new logo and the 50th anniversary but it still feels misleading to me and not universally backed up by secondary sources. Same goes for the other phoenix clubs. BLAIXX 14:52, 21 October 2023 (UTC)[reply]
