Original Article[edit]

Portions of the original article seems to have been taken verbatim from il bragozzo a Venetian tourist guide.

According to the original article Malamocco refers to a) the inlet to the Venetian Lagoon, between Pellestrina Island and Lido Island, and 2) to a community on the southern end of Lido Island. Text is not clear on this point. Google Maps shows the community of Malamacco (but only in satellite imagery) situated 1/3th of the distance from the southern end of Lido Island. I suppose that's "the southern end" but its a bit misleading.

The text says that Malamoccoa has a parish church "Santa Maria Assunta", Google Maps shows a church Santa Maria Assunta in nearby Padua, but does not identify a church by that name in Malamocco. Perhaps the text simply means that the parish church is Santa Maria Assunta in Padua. The text, however, seems to imply that its actually in the town of Malmocco.

The texts tells us that Malamocco has a "Palazzo del Podestà", ie, the "Palace of the Podestà". Presumably this refers to a rennaisance period buliding houseing the Podestà, or ruling magistrate. More explanation of the significance of this is needed.

The next sentence refers to a "fortress" presumably in Malamocco. What is the significance of that? If this is worth mentioning at all, its worth a more detailed discussion.

A map would be a big help here. — Preceding unsigned comment added by TwelveShip (talkcontribs) 16:21, 27 May 2014 (UTC) [reply]

Further Needs[edit]

  • Need to add map
  • Verify that Palazzo del Podesta, is in Malamocco [done] See:Esposizione permanente a Palazzo del Podestà a Malamocco
  • Verify that Santa Maria Assunta is in Malamocco [done]
  • Identify the "fortress" said to be in Malamocco
  • Expand and source history of Malamocco.
  • Might add section dealing with historical personages associated with Malamocco. E.g., Pietro Cesare Alberti,(1608-1655) first permanant settler of Italian descent in New york City (1635-1655);
