A city is governed by a Municipality/Corporation, where as there is no specific administrative authority or region defined as such for an urban agglomeration. UAs are mainly used for identifying the urban areas. Other than calculating urban population these areas have nothing to with. If that is the case, India has nearly 475 regions identified as UAs and practically every such place will end up with one of these articles. Commander (Ping me) 06:31, 8 January 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Kindly try not to post Malappuram Urban Center related queries here. we have a discussion page there. --Truebrother 16:39, 8 January 2012 (UTC)[reply]

This is infact the right place to discuss, as this is the parent article. Commander (Ping me) 16:38, 9 January 2012 (UTC)[reply]

The Doctor who started a University[edit]

BLP on Dr. U. Bapputty Haji has mentioned Darul Huda Islamic University which doesn't exist. It is a diploma mill and the organization is not approved by the University Grants Commission, Newdelhi. --Prof TPMS (talk) 00:54, 14 February 2016 (UTC) Please consider deleting the page. What do you mean by 'it doesn't exist'?. There do exist an establishment in the name and it doesn't matter whether its UGC approved or not as they don't come under the purview of UGC. It's certainly not a diploma mill and doesn't claim to provide anything that's mainstream higher education. Its a religious institution imparting religious degrees. Irrespective of the size compared to other Islamic Universities around the world, it still has affiliated colleges under and provides courses in respective theological subjects being a member of Federation and league of Islamic Universities. Between why is this being discussed here? This is no article about the university.--117.208.242.117 (talk) 19:33, 27 April 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Content Dispute[edit]

The subtopics such as ISO Certification, Politics, Law and order, Road, Rail, Air, Mass transit etc are essential part of the article and has enough references given to back them. Kindly refrain from making unnecessary edits pushing to WP:EW. Further edits on similar line could warrant an administrative action.--Truebrother (talk) 07:10, 3 August 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Unsourced and other issues[edit]

I'm removing content from the main article. I will paste it here and explain why it has been removed.

Mass transit[edit]

Proposed Malappuram Metro Rail route.

Malappuram Metro Rail is a proposed mass transit system for the city by Lensfed (Licensed Engineers & Supervisors Federation). The proposal was considering the future urban scenario which would demand a transport system that can cater to the million plus population of the Malappuram urban agglomeration. In April 2012, Lensfed submitted detailed project report to Government which proposed 8 major stations and 9 intermediate stations out of which three elevated stations at Malappuram Central, Kondotty and Angadipuram. The alignment is similar to the proposed railway line of Calicut-Malappuram-Angadipuram. Apart from this, there is a proposal to extend proposed Kozhikode Light Metro Rail network to Malappuram during its third phase of expansion, paving a way to Calicut-Malappuram 'Urban Corridor' concept.[1]

Discussion[edit]

This is undue here. Since this has not yet been established, I don't see any encyclopaedic value to keep it in this article. It may be better to explain in the Transportation in Malappuram district article. The reference btw may be a copvio or not a reliable source.--Lemongirl942 (talk) 07:58, 3 August 2016 (UTC)[reply]
