Comment[edit]

The style in which this is written seems quite inappropriate. Especially the sentences: "Manufacturing is an important sector of the modern British economy and there is a considerable amount of published research on the subject of the factors affecting its growth and performance. Britain – the birthplace of the Industrial Revolution – continues to be one of the most attractive countries in the world for direct foreign industrial investment." is too emotional for an encyclopedia. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 134.102.101.222 (talk) 10:58, 1 December 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Ya di da[edit]

Is there no-one in the UK or elsewhere capable of updating the data in this section to something more recent than 5, 6, 9 year old stats? The opening paragraph even says "as of 2014". Truly this article highlights the state of UK manufacturing - total disinterest. Will someone please turn off the lights... 2A02:C7F:2CB3:5900:282A:D3AF:E8C2:AA5A (talk) 09:28, 15 July 2023 (UTC)[reply]
