María Belón Alvárez ?[edit]

I have removed the "| birth_name = María Belón Alvárez" entry from the Infobox section because there is no substantiation for such an entry. That a woman born "María Belón Alvárez" would, upon marrying Enrique Alvárez, become María Belón, is obviously in error. Without substantiation (which is unlikely in any event), the encyclopedic thing to do is to drop any claim either way.

Also, it is well known that most Spanish brides do not take their husband's surname. To support that, consider these references:

"In Spanish speaking countries, surnames do not change as a result of marriage. Both the bride and the groom keep their birth names. However, socially it is acceptable to refer to the wife as ‘Señora de’ (meaning ‘ wife of’) and then her husband’s surname. This is purely used in a social setting and is never acceptable legally. Under Spanish law, women cannot adopt their husband’s names." -- source: http://www.labourmobility.com/does-my-surname-change-when-i-get-married-in/index.php.

As of 2001, Spaniards of both sexes reject a bride dropping her surname in favor of her husband's surname by almost 20 to 1 (77% no, 4% yes). Spaniards even reject double-barreled names by a 9 to 2 margin (77% no, 17% yes). -- source: http://www.ined.fr/fichier/t_telechargement/15823/telechargement_fichier_en_pesa367.20.pdf.

Nationality of character in film portrayal[edit]

It's described in this article, and supported by citation that the nationality from the film is unspecified. However the accents used by many of the family members to my ear is from the UK... However I don't think it is spoken by any of the characters directly. Also the film's plot section on the Wikipedia page describes them as an English family.

Perhaps the plot description should omit calling them English? SmokeyCircuits1 (talk) 04:57, 12 November 2020 (UTC)[reply]
