Acquaviva[edit]

How did the other Catherina pass along the inheritance of Conversano to d'Aquaviva? That was part of the Brienne inheritance. Choess 19:22, 2 Jun 2005 (UTC)

I think she somehow descended from these same, or was step-daughter of someone, and received perhaps a small portion, Conversano somehow changed between. I am a bit puzzled of duke Gabriel of Venosa, since I think I remember somewhere he was mentioned bastard. 62.78.105.154 20:42, 2 Jun 2005 (UTC)

This page says that Catherina, heiress of Conversano and Casamassima, was the illegitmate daughter of Gianantonio del Balzo Orsini. It also lists Gabriele, Duke of Venosa, but says he's legitimate (and the brother of Gianantonio), and doesn't list a Catherina among his daughters. Given the propensity for dividing inheritances, I suppose she could be (based solely on her possession of Conversano) the natural daughter of either Gianantonio or Gabriele; do you have a citation for her being fathered by Gabriele? Well, I just checked the same site's Acquavivia page, and they give the same filiation there as you do: Catherina as daughter of Gabriele rather than Gianantonio. Looks like we need another source to clear this up. Choess 03:03, 3 Jun 2005 (UTC)

inheritance of cousin Walter[edit]

I must ask for sources of the allegation that Walter was fully and totally inherited by uncle Louis.

I think some sources which I came across earlier, said that Walter's inheritance was divided.

That is anyway the more cautious presumption.

I believe the article should be altered, if no conclusive proof is given that Louis was the sole heir. And, on what basis?

The fact that Louis assumed the title of Duke of Athens does not confirm anything such that he were the sole heir. Actually, on the contary: since Louis was not the primogeniture successor, the fact he received something implies that inheritance was divided. 62.78.126.112 11:20, 3 Jun 2005 (UTC)
