Meshell Ndegeocello?[edit]

Has anybody got a clue about what happened to Meshell Ndegeocello? She was definitely signed to Maverick but she's not listed in the Wikipedia Maverick page and I haven't heard of her for ages! thanx.

Floren, Spain.

The article states that Guy Oseary "took over" as CEO in 1998, but later lists Madonna in that position until 2004. Which is correct? —Preceding unsigned comment added by Huntington (talkcontribs) 17:24, 11 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]

When did Warner buy out Madonna's shares?[edit]

The article states that in 2004, "shares owned by Madonna and Dashev were purchased by Warner Bros." making it "a wholly owned subsidiary of Warner Bros.," but later states that "As of August 2007, Madonna sold her 60% share of Maverick to Warner Bros Recording Group"; at least one of those assertions has to be wrong, unless she bought back a bunch of stock in between.--Little Angus 14:30, 27 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Fair use rationale for Image:Maverick records.png[edit]

Image:Maverick records.png is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in this Wikipedia article constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If there is other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images lacking such an explanation can be deleted one week after being tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.

Does it still exist?[edit]

Currently, as I have researched the last of the "current artists" section and have found that absolutely none of them had anything to with Maverick or are no longer a part of the label, it seems the label has NO artists. I do know its former band Lillix stated that it didn't exist, but Alanis Morissette's Flavors of Entanglement was released under Maverick. However, since then, I have no seen or been able to find any releases by Maverick after this. Not to mention, they're old website www.maverickrecords.com no longer exists and www.maverick.com states it's an "entertainment" company, not specifically music, so I'm inclined to believe the label is finished. If anyone can find a good source for it, please do. - LoveLaced (talk) 21:07, 10 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Rule 62[edit]

The Rule 62 link on this page re-directs to Alcoholics Anonymous not to an article on the band

Proposed merge with Maverick Records[edit]

Maverick (company) is the parent article and nothing is present in this one or Maverick Films that justifies a WP:SPLIT. They can all be under the same roof. —Indian:BIO [ ChitChat ] 05:39, 10 September 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Its been over 2 months now. If no one objects I will do the merge tomorrow. —Indian:BIO [ ChitChat ] 22:30, 17 November 2015 (UTC)[reply]
Was anything actually merged here? It looks like no information was transferred after the redirect. Certainly, the artist list on the old page was much more comprehensive, and needs to be transferred, at bare minimum... Chubbles (talk) 21:13, 18 February 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Ah, OK, it was a few months ago. Well, we'd certainly want to migrate the artist list over, as well, which I can do after the incoming links to the record label redirect are restored. Chubbles (talk) 06:53, 19 February 2016 (UTC)[reply]
