I am sure there's a logical reason why the first Indian Mayor of BMC, kaka Joseph Baptista is not included in this list of mayors of BMC. If so can we please state the reason, or else just add the gentleman's name to the list please? Thanks for any help or guidance in getting this article up to standards. Good Morning and Greetings to You Madam.. My name is Jerrom A DCunha a social activist, member, Human Rights Protection Force, Maharashtra State,Flight service Manager, Flyglobespan/Air India Madam would like to kindly inform You that I am concerned regarding the Air Pollution taking place at Dharavi-Mahim link road, opposite Navrang compound and further down starting from the railway bridge till tha road connecting to Kalanagar and sion.. which comes under G-NORTH Ward 2ZONE2..the shops located in the above areas,buy waste materials like wires. circuits cardboards,other relevant waste products use the above mentioned place as a DUMPING GROUND.. and start burning the balance waste not required by them, they burn itmes like thermocole, wires to procure copper wires from within and other hazaradous products.. since the Mahim area and the adjoining areas are being enveloped in smoke during night and day since several months.. I finally went to inspect the area along with a Beat Marshall from Mahim police station Shri Mahadev Chavri.. when we approached the Mahim-Dharavi link raod bridge there life threatening flames on the slope of the bridge and black billowing smoke was present,I intimated the Shahu Nagar police station was about this.. a wireless was sent to the spot .. the Fire Brigade was called as this smoke was threastening the lives of commuters in the trains passing below this bridge and the motorman of a WR train had to literally stop the train...at a distance.. the fire Brigade spent nearly 1 hour to dowse the flames .. this toxic and life threatening smoke has affected the elderly and children in the areas like mahim, shahu nagar and kalanagar..and several adjoining areas. appreciate please if You can put an end to this life threatening AIR POLLUTION being faced by the citizens of the affected areas.I am concerned and worried for the elderly and children.. thanking you.. rgds Jerrom A DCunha, MBA(USA), SOCIAL ACTIVIST
