Untitled[edit]

According to the Oxford Biographical Dictionary, Mercadier's real name was Matthew Strickland. This is the only reference I can find to this anywhere though and, given that the current article claims he was French, I'm loathe to add this 'fact' in. Anone know for sure? Routier?[edit]

the term routier is internally linked to an article which unequivocally states their origin in the 1340's and limits the phenomenon exclusively to the hundred years war. to anyone following this link, the inconsistency is obvious and wp looks bad. i'm not sure how best to correct this, but if no one undertakes it pdq,i will.Toyokuni3 (talk) 05:43, 9 June 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Mercadier can't be "Eastern European" if he was an Occitan-speaker from the French region of Provence. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 176.253.138.27 (talk) 23:01, 15 September 2015 (UTC)[reply]
