Excessive citations[edit]

In a quest to provide sources for either future expansion, providing extra "proof" (drive home a point), or simply because the sources are available, there may be a tendency to add an abundance of sources. This can have negative effects of making an article difficult to read. It also makes an article somewhat difficult for other editors when attempting to add material. This is sometimes referred to as refbombing. If citations have material that can be added to the article they can be included on the talk page until this is accomplished. Another option would be to bundle the citations but so many citations on one paragraph or sentence is just too many. Otr500 (talk) 15:22, 2 July 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Compulsion to use Hindi[edit]

Ayush ministry makes it compulsory to use Hindi and does not allow conferences in English. Ministry officials ask to leave the conference if the persons don't understand Hindi.[1] — Preceding unsigned comment added by Ayush238 (talkcontribs) 09:49, 23 August 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Semi-protected edit request on 27 May 2021[edit]

There are many negative, false, inappropriate and misleading statements in the article. Validity of references is also a matter of concern. Addition of scientific information along with valid references and reframing some statements is to be done. There are criticism but there are also more researches praising AYUSH. The current content of the page does not address the positive side and contribution of AYUSH. Therefore need unbiased major editing. Hence requesting to kindly allow my request for editing the content. Dhiraj.ayu (talk) 08:38, 27 May 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Other than complaining about the neutrality, what specific change do you want to make based on which specific sources?PrisonerB (talk) 08:40, 27 May 2021 (UTC)[reply]
Not done: it's not clear what changes you want to be made. Please mention the specific changes in a "change X to Y" format and provide a reliable source if appropriate. ScottishFinnishRadish (talk) 11:08, 27 May 2021 (UTC)[reply]

To rectify the Unacceptable wordings used for Ayush ministry and Ayurveda.[edit]

It is foolish to publish The opinion about the medicinal treatment system dealt by ayush ministry as a pseudoscience and unscientific. It is shameful for wikipedia to have this cheap and rubbish type of editors in team. Ayurveda which has wholistic approach regarding the mind--body and interrelationship, their abnormalities and treatments since 8 thousand years . From those times when the new science was not even in womb. How foolish the editors are in wikipedia; they even not know the contribution of Ayurveda in the field of surgery. Each and every surgical knives, instrument, scalpel, scissors has been described in the ayurved literature 8000 yrs back. Rhinoplasty like surgeries are fundamental contribution of Ayurveda to so called new science. It is expected to rectify the opinion about the ayurveda as well as ministry of ayush and delete the word pseudoscience and quackery. Apurvayu (talk) 15:57, 27 May 2021 (UTC)[reply]

@Apurvayu: Anyone can edit Wikipedia to add more information. Also there is a difference between the Ministry of AYUSH and Ayurveda, so criticism of the ministry does not have to be criticism of Ayurveda. I set up an article called clinical trials on Ayurveda to describe some of the relationship between Ayurveda and modern science, but finding published information in English language about this was difficult for me.
The best way I can think for anyone to improve this or other related articles is to present good sources to cite. Wikipedia will only be as good as the sources it cites, and when there is a lack of sources, Wikipedia will have a lack of information. What is the best source you find talking about the Ministry of AYUSH? Blue Rasberry (talk) 17:09, 27 May 2021 (UTC)[reply]

The statement provided in the above mentioned page ie. “this department is well known for spreading pseudo science” is a wrong argument as this department deals with indian systems of medicine. There are lot of scientific journals research centers etc in the corresponding field which conducts and publishes various scientific researches in the field. Even athe apex health body world wide ie. WHO had recognised indian medical systems especially ayurveda. Hence the argument putforth by the author is wrong and needs to be corrected 2402:3A80:1E6F:ABB1:898F:D4B5:2606:970 (talk) 07:36, 28 May 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Not done: you might find it helpful to read Wikipedia's policies surrounding fringe theories: WP:FRINGE. Since the mainstream, scientific consensus is that things like Ayurveda or homeopathy are pseudoscience, we reflect that in our articles. ‑‑Volteer1 (talk) 08:16, 28 May 2021 (UTC)[reply]
