Apologies to any and all who view this page. Hopefully I've not too made any errors with formatting and tagging. Will try and expand when time and enthusiasm permit. RobC Not sure if this paragraph makes sense: Let's Active released an EP and three albums before splitting up. Easter had by then become known primarily as a producer, and worked with a number of artists, some of them perhaps because of his influence on the early R.E.M., Pavement included.

Home & Studio Recording (UK) - Mitch Easter interview[edit]

Home & Studio Recording magazine (UK) April 1988 (p56 - 60) Interview and photographs: John Harris Publisher: Music Maker Publications

Excerpt

Harris - "Was this how your early involvement with REM began?"

Easter - "Well, we had a mutual friend in New York who recommended they come to me because I had just started my place. They came in and did three songs in a day, one of which turned out to be that "Radio Free Europe" single which got a glowing review in the Village Voice in New York. It was only a demo tape but then some guy at Atlantic put it out for them and it just did real well. It was in the right time place at the right time. After that they came in and did some more which turned into their EP "Chronic Town", and that led to their first two albums which I did with Don Dixon."
