Currency consistancy[edit]

Because the first talk of currency is in US dollars, I will convert all figures to dollars with English Pounds and Euros in parentheses. Bordello 03:24, 28 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]

I think this is not a good idea. If the real value is in Euro, we should stick to it. A valu in dollars would always be ambiguous, as you could use the exchange rate of 27 january or that of today, or of an even different date. --Donar Reiskoffer 06:10, 28 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Turnover[edit]

What does "by turnover" mean? Could somebody clarify this please.

Assuming a European accounting context, turnover means revenue or sales. Currently there's a contradiction between this article and Arcelor as to who has the greater turnover. Shawnc 15:08, 2 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]

This page has inaccurate information[edit]

The following statement, on the Mittal Steel page, is inaccurate: "Mittal's steel mill in Cleveland Ohio has far surpassed the legal amount of pollution it should release."

In fact, the ArcelorMittal Cleveland facility meets all federal and state environmental regulations. It regularly goes beyond most standards. Moreover, its control system emissions of particulate matter average only 31 percent of the level permitted under the federal Maximum Achievable Control Technology (MACT) standards. Not only does the facility emit less than one-third of what the MACT allows, but it complied with these new standards before it was required to.

I work with ArcelorMittal, and we would like to see this inaccurate statement deleted.

Furthermore, the information that follows it in the section titled "Critcism" is out of date.

A quick google search yielded several articles that suggest the statement perhaps should not have been removed at the request of a PR manager for Mittal...

I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in this Wikipedia article constitutes fair use.
