"Longest running annual jazz festival in the world"[edit]

Is this really true? What about the Newport Jazz Festival?

Reality versus Wikipedia articles[edit]

Sometimes I doubt seriously the accuracy of the references given. They are often informative but slanted as though written as by a promotor's PR man. My experience of the Monterey Jazz Festival in 1963 was a follows: We drove north from LA on highway ONE, the one along the cliffs, we camped overnight and drove on to Carmel. The festival grounds we found there was a rudimentaryly staged one, as though in patch of a meadow, the chairs were placed out on the grass ground with all its unevenness. The crowd which filled all seats were not over 500. Now this does not correlate with concerts being held in Monterey, quite a ways away in an area meant for such public events. What do you think? List of performers[edit]

The list of performers would make a better article as a list. — btphelps (talk to me) (what I've done) 21:25, 11 October 2016 (UTC)[reply]
