Foreign writers writing about Morocco are not part of Moroccan literature[edit]

I have just deleted the following paragraph about foreign writers in Morocco, as they are not part of Moroccan literature. Rather their writing should be mentioned in their personal articles. "During the 1950s and 1960s, Morocco was also a temporary destination for writers from abroad, such as Paul Bowles, Tennessee Williams, Brion Gysin, William S. Burroughs and Jack Kerouac." Classical antiquity[edit]

Are there any RS stating that the writers named in this section can rightfully be considered as part of Moroccan literature? Just as other articles about national literatures of North Africa and West Asia, this article is about Moroccan literature as a national literature, made up of various linguistic traditions. - So even the Andalusi and other periods before Moroccan independence can only be considered as forerunners and historical writing by authors who lived and sometimes wrote about the region called Morocco. In other words, there is a difference between authors writing in pre-modern Morocco and those that constitute the history of modern Moroccan literature. - If this view is shared and supported by RS, it should be mentioned in the article. modern Moroccan literature needs expansion[edit]

The section about Literary production before the Years of Lead could be expanded, and all modern Moroccan literature since then should be added. As it is, this article practically ends with independence. Munfarid1 (talk) 09:48, 14 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]
