There seems to be some sort of substantial military instillation on top of Pilatus, does anyone know anything about it?

Apparently it's part of the Swiss air defense, that article says it is run by Luftwaffe Radar Abteilung 1 (airforce radar command 1). There's a pic here. the wub "?!" 10:20, 25 August 2008 (UTC)

That is why the Swiss built the railway! One does not spend so much treasure on putting in such a thing for tourists on a mountain with no decent sky slopes. It is much more than just air defence, it has some large guns on it, which with pin point accuracy can hit targets in the valleys below. How do I know (too much beer and a room full of swiss ... ).
