Length of article[edit]

This article is 165 kilobytes long, but I don't think it would be a good idea to split it up. What do you think? --Buaidh (talk) 21:44, 29 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Well I've reduced it by almost half. I set the images to thumb as suggested in the WP:MOS. Replaced all the flag icons with a simple link to the province. Removed all the hidden formatting. Reduced overlinking to the same article as per the MOS. Removed some of the "see also" entries as they were duplicted within the article. Used ft and mi to replace feet and miles. Prominence table[edit]

Cleanup[edit]

I noticed that Otter Mountain was listed twice in "The 100 highest major mountain peaks of Canada" at 81 and 82. It was also listed twice in "The 101 Most Topographically Prominent Mountain Peaks of Canada" at 23 and 24 and both can be seen here After I checked through I also noticed that Mount Seattle, Alaska had been removed. I then reduced the page size by cleaning it up. First according to Wikipedia:Manual of Style#Large numbers commas are required so I restored them by using the convert template. This ensures the figures match the MOS and stops the casual vandal from changing a converted figure. I reduced the overlinking to the same article multiple times. There were several links in the see also section that were already linked in the body of the article. The other links to various mountains can still be accessed through either List of mountains in Canada or Lists of mountains. I turned all the references into notes and the inline external links into references. I also removed the flags, they don't do much besides make the page larger and hard to open for viewing or editing. CambridgeBayWeather Have a gorilla 05:17, 23 November 2008 (UTC)[reply]

The cleanup has unfortunately destroyed the ability to sort on either topographic prominence or topographic isolation. This was the reason for employing the hs template. --Buaidh (talk) 16:10, 24 November 2008 (UTC)[reply]
