Problem[edit]

Problem with the information here. Allegedly, Mohammed was the oldest brother upon Saud's deposition. Trouble is Faisal's down in Wikpedia as being either 7 or 4 years older.

the reason[edit]

Why exactly was he forced to step aside from the succession? And if he was so powerful, why couldn't he refuse? HustonJMarble 02:58, 18 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Why[edit]

Why only his stepping aside from the succession has been emphasized? His early life should be detailed.Egeymi (talk) 15:10, 23 April 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Orphaned references in Muhammad bin Abdulaziz Al Saud[edit]

I check pages listed in Category:Pages with incorrect ref formatting to try to fix reference errors. One of the things I do is look for content for orphaned references in wikilinked articles. I have found content for some of Muhammad bin Abdulaziz Al Saud's orphans, the problem is that I found more than one version. I can't determine which (if any) is correct for this article, so I am asking for a sentient editor to look it over and copy the correct ref content into this article.

Reference named "prophets":

  • From Prince Mohammad bin Abdulaziz Airport: Weston, Mark (28 July 2008). "Prophets and Princes: Saudi Arabia from Muhammad to the Present". John Wiley & Sons. Retrieved 25 October 2017 – via Google Books.

I apologize if any of the above are effectively identical; I am just a simple computer program, so I can't determine whether minor differences are significant or not. AnomieBOT 17:58, 4 May 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Formatting issue[edit]

I don't know how to correct this. As stated correctly in the title, his name, transliterated from Arabic to English, is Muhammad bin (=son of) Abdulaziz Al Saud. But the Arabic rendition of his name in the first paragraph piece is AlAziz Al Saud Muhammad bin Abd. This is because Arabic reads right to left. It's a line break thing. Cross Reference (talk) 15:20, 13 January 2019 (UTC)[reply]

I think the problem you are describing is what happens when the Arabic name ends up getting split between two lines, like:
Muhammad bin Abdulaziz Al Saud (محمد بن عبدالعزيز أل سعود) was blah blah blah...
For me, this renders what I believe is correctly, with the
(محمد بن عبدالعزيز
(Muhammad bin Abdulaziz) on the first line and the
أل سعود) (Al Saud)
on the second line.
It's awkward, but I think it's better than the alternatives. I would suggest (and did use) {{Nowrap}} around the Arabic name to try to prevent the split if possible.
Or is it supposed to be:
Muhammad bin Abdulaziz Al Saud ((محمد بن عبدالعزيز أل سعود)) was blah blah blah...
or:
Muhammad bin Abdulaziz Al Saud (محمد بن عبدالعزيز أل سعود) was blah blah blah...
neither of which makes much sense, but then I can't claim I read or write or know how to punctuate mixed English/Arabic. :)
I will also note that the existing code had a space in the middle of "Abdul Aziz" Arabic: عبدالعزيز, which I changed to Arabic: عبالعزيز ("Abdulaziz") for consistency with other usage. —[AlanM1(talk)]— 10:02, 14 January 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks Alan it breaks properly now. Cross Reference (talk) 04:46, 26 May 2019 (UTC)[reply]
