Etymology[edit]

The word Narva (Narova) has Baltic origin and comes from *Nārava 'a river to dive' or 'water-nymph' , cf. Latvian nāra, vārava 'mermaid, water-nymph', nirt 'to dive'. Roberts7 16:29, 9 May 2009 (UTC) —Preceding unsigned comment added by Roberts7 (talk • contribs)
