National Democratic Alliance (India)National Democratic Alliance – The Indian National Democratic Alliance is clearly the primary topic. It receives thousands of page views every day, compared to the single digit or low double digit page views of the other topics. There has been a bump in page views over the past couple of months due to Indian elections, but the page view numbers were in thousands even before the elections began. It is extensively linked in Wikipedia, more than the rest of the others combined. Web search results mostly return pages about the Indian alliance, while pages about other alliances are few and far between. —Gazoth (talk) 23:44, 27 May 2019 (UTC) --Relisting. Steel1943 (talk) 19:09, 8 June 2019 (UTC)[reply]

  • Support. I'm typically in favor of disambiguation of the names of parties to avoid systematic bias, but here the pageviews are so overwhelming that the Indian party is clearly primary. -- King of ♠ 03:03, 28 May 2019 (UTC)[reply]
  • Oppose. You could say the same thing about many political parties around the world, yet we disambiguate almost all of them. -- Necrothesp (talk) 12:53, 29 May 2019 (UTC)[reply]
And yet there's also counterexamples of political parties already recognized as primary topics. 142.160.89.97 (talk) 05:17, 7 June 2019 (UTC)[reply]
@CharlesViBritannia: How does WP:NATURALDIS apply here, in your view? 142.160.89.97 (talk) 05:01, 7 June 2019 (UTC)[reply]
Comment, the article title is fine as it is. there's more than one "National Democratic Alliance" political group in the world. leaving it as it is will differentiate it from the rest, renaming it to whats been proposed will simply creat confusion. as stated WP:NATURALDIS "to avoid confusion with another article of the same name" CharlesViBritannia (talk) 05:08, 7 June 2019 (UTC)[reply]
Where in WP:NATURALDIS is that quotation, CharlesViBritannia? Perhaps I'm missing something obvious, but I genuinely don't see it.
And I think you might be misinterpreting WP:NATURALDIS, which doesn't apply to titles with a parenthetical disambiguator (i.e., WP:PARENDIS, which WP:ATDAB describes as being in contrast to natural disambiguation). 142.160.89.97 (talk) 05:17, 7 June 2019 (UTC)[reply]
  • Support – An obvious application of WP:PRIMARYTOPIC (to which articles about political parties are no exception), both with respect to usage and long-term significance. 142.160.89.97 (talk) 05:17, 7 June 2019 (UTC)[reply]

  • Support and this should be closed since the consensus is clear. Pratyush (talk) 10:09, 18 June 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Merge Sections "Past members" and "Year by year changes" into "history" section.[edit]

Both the sections "Past members" and "Year by year changes" are closely related to History of the coalition. I suggest merging the mentioned sections into the History section. Manasbose (talk) 10:37, 13 July 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Improper attribution[edit]

as a citizen of India, I want to understand why BJP party or NDA is considered 'Conservative' or 'Right Wing'. Does the Wikipedia suggest that if the people of India start realizing their own cultural values and traditions then is it Conservative? If so then all Countries in the world are Conservative as they try to protect their traditions and culture. 124.123.188.192 (talk) 06:02, 3 August 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Before editing do some research into it.[edit]

Bro, i have seen that you have edited a Wikipedia article of NDA. In that i have seen that you are not aware of MNF alliance. MNF only supports NDA in national level not in state level,it means that MLA of MNF doesn't represent NDA,only the MP of MNF represent MP as MNF supports NDA only in national level not in state level. Please do some research before editing as yours this type of editing causes vandalism and you are a wikipedia admin, this was not expected from you.

The following discussion is closed. Please do not modify it. Subsequent comments should be made on the appropriate discussion page. No further edits should be made to this discussion.

Under Strength in parliament section, National People's Party is mentioned as National party.

As per the Representation of the People Act, 1951 (RPA), For a National Status-

  1. The party wins 2% of seats in the Lok Sabha (11 seats) from at least 3 different States.
  2. At a General Election to Lok Sabha or Legislative Assembly, the party polls 6% of votes in four States and in addition it wins 4 Lok Sabha seats.
  3. A party gets recognition as State Party in four or more States.
