Name[edit]

Just mildly curious which of you (not your - YOU!) editors isn't willing to fix this ineptly incorrect reference to a stadium whose alleged name appears as you list it NOT on any stadium signage nor in any box score nor, as far as I know, anywhere except on wiki and in ONE article that was itself clearly written in the future tense?

To that editor, I say: Grow. Up. I understand you wanted to be first. In striving to do so, though, you simply became: Wrong.

This ballpark's name is NewBridge Bank Park. It will REMAIN NewBridge Bank Park until its owners - not always, but in this case, the ballclub - say so. And by "say so" I mean changing the signs people see there and the "venue" name that appears in the box scores of the games played there by the professional baseball franchise that OWNS the place. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 64.134.63.41 (talk) 02:15, 9 January 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Wrong. I read the same article you did. Saying you're GOING to name something something is not the same as naming it something. At the groundbreaking for the Biloxi Shuckers' new stadium last year, a name for that new ballpark was announced. I don't even remember now what that name was - because when the name was announced it was NOT whatever was announced but "MGM Park." And that incorrect information was from an MGM bigwig. The article you and I read presented this name from an indirect quote. It may well turn out to be this name, but it has not been renamed yet. The signage, as far as I know, still reads "NewBridge Bank Park." As far as I know? True, I haven't been there this season - but I just looked and the MOST RECENT BOX SCORE - if you know anything about baseball, you know box scores are GOLD and list venues - lists THIS venue as "New Bridge Bank Park." The name changes when the contracts are signed, the signage goes up and the name in the box score changes. It may turn out to be what you're calling it now - but, hey, it didn't in Biloxi. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 64.134.191.96 (talk) 02:37, 5 May 2016 (UTC)[reply]

It STILL ain't Yadkin Bank Park - and it ain't gonna be[edit]

You really ought to correct this. Not only is the previous Talk entry true, Yadkin is now being bought by a larger bank, FNB. Again, if you're not close enough to go look at the stadium signage, check a box score. This place is still called NewBridge Bank Park and will likely NEVER be called Yadkin Bank Park. (I know I can edit...but I won't. I'm trying to help you within confines I've set based on past activity. However, if nobody minds an inaccurate "article" ...) — Preceding unsigned comment added by 2602:306:362B:870:7984:49A3:1FBF:B03F (talk) 00:28, 4 August 2016 (UTC)[reply]

You could be right. The article on the name change today does not call it Yadkin Bank Park but says FNB is continuing the NewBridge sponsorship.— Vchimpanzee • talk • contributions • 19:12, 6 March 2017 (UTC)[reply]
