For the record, the comment on October 24, 2014 that read ""Notable actresses" do not beg for money online like a webcam ho! Your boyfriend should be embarrassed for pimping you out with a gofundme to repair your car. Begging for sporting event tickets is really low. New Carlisle as a General Area[edit]

User:Mjb mentioned in an edit comment about the notable residents section that it is unclear as to who is actually from New Carlisle itself specifically questioning Bertha Lamme Feicht and Benjamin G. Lamme. I understand his/her point, but generally speaking people from that part of unincorporated Clark County generally identify themselves as "from New Carlisle" because that where that would go if they were "going into town." It could be questioned if the Lammes lived closer to Springfield, but they attended Olive Branch High School which was the high school for New Carlisle area at the time (and the current High School sits on the same piece of land).

Re: "greater" New Carlisle, the article doesn't explain such a concept, and would have to cite a source if it did. New Carlisle has finite boundaries, despite the presence of the "New Carlisle" post office name on mail delivered along the "45344" zip code routes, and the tendency of rural residents nowadays to just say they're "from" the nearest town with more than two traffic lights.
The Lamme farm is at Lammes Lane and Lower Valley Pike, confirmed by a neighbor here: [1]. When I first saw the photos, I thought for sure it had to be the end of the township that's closer to Springfield because of the water tower and ginormous smokestacks in the background, but apparently it's not.
In any case, if they lived on what is now Lower Valley Pike, it's kind of stretch to say they're "from" New Carlisle. People who live there today might say that, but the farm is closer to Medway. I think everyone wants to claim the Lammes as their own, and I don't mind if they are mentioned on multiple articles (e.g. for the schools, the township and the nearby municipalities) but we shouldn't say they're principally from New Carlisle. We have to just say they're just from a farm in Bethel township, "near" insert-town-here. —mjb (talk) 17:22, 15 October 2014 (UTC)[reply]

I think it is all relative. Growing up in the area if people asked you where you lived you responded “New Carlisle” only if you lived in town. Otherwise you said “Park Layne”, “Medway”, “Donnelsville”, or “on ___ road.” However, if you were in say Dayton and someone asked you where you were from you would say “New Carlisle” regardless and I don’t think that’s a phenomenon unique to the New Carlisle area. Maybe the cure would be to retitle the section “notable area residents.” Eric Cable  |  Talk  11:40, 16 October 2014 (UTC)[reply]
