New Tide Orquesta[edit]

The result of the proposal was not moved. Give it some time. --BDD (talk) 19:28, 21 September 2012 (UTC) (non-admin closure)[reply]

New Tango OrquestaNew Tide Orquesta – This group has changed name; a WP:AFC article was proposed under the group's new name New Tide Orquesta but I'd think it would make more sense to move this existing page on the group and add the new info instead of starting over? K7L (talk) 23:27, 14 September 2012 (UTC)[reply]

  • Oppose – no evidence has been presented that the new name is what they are most commonly referred to as. Dicklyon (talk) 07:18, 16 September 2012 (UTC)[reply]
  • Comment - Sources for the change in name (which was made in August 2012) are [1] [2] [3]. The first album with the new name will appear October 2012; prior works in print from this group were issued before the name change. sv:New Tide Orquesta is using the new name. Wikipedia talk:Articles for creation/New Tide Orquesta was submitted by the same original author as this page, so I've asked that user to add the new info and sources from that page here. K7L (talk) 13:13, 16 September 2012 (UTC)[reply]
Renaming the article seems premature if they haven't even published their first work under the new name yet. Dicklyon (talk) 01:59, 17 September 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Requested move[edit]

The following discussion is an archived discussion of a requested move. Please do not modify it. Subsequent comments should be made in a new section on the talk page. Editors desiring to contest the closing decision should consider a move review. No further edits should be made to this section.

The result of the move request was: moved. The name is change is recent, but the new name seems to have gained currency already, judging from the sources. DrKiernan (talk) 17:50, 26 November 2012 (UTC)[reply]

New Tango OrquestaNew Tide Orquesta – The name of the orchestra have been changed, from "New Tango Orquesta" to "New Tide Orquesta", therefore it would be better to move this page to "New Tide Orquesta" (spelling is correct). They released their 6th album recently (oct) under the new name. See info on their website www.newtideorquesta.com, especially the blog post http://newtideorquesta.com/new-name/ 37.197.242.71 (talk) 17:19, 17 November 2012 (UTC)[reply]

  • Support move to New Tide Orquesta per [4], the corresponding page move was already made on sv: in August 2012.[5] K7L (talk) 17:31, 17 November 2012 (UTC)[reply]
  • Comment - Listings of items for sale are not neutral reliable sources (due to their promotional nature) so it's best to cite independent reviews like [6], at least in articles. As far as I know, the vendors just reprint the blurb from the record company without any further verification or editorial control exercised. K7L (talk) 17:45, 17 November 2012 (UTC)[reply]
  • Support - ideally we'd wait around for printed sources, but what's the point of having RM3 in another couple of months. The CD is already on Amazon, if anyone searches it'll be for the new CD not the old ones. In ictu oculi (talk) 17:49, 17 November 2012 (UTC)[reply]
  • Comment - Göteborgs-Posten *is* a printed source; it's in Swedish and any machine translation is rubbish, but the review itself appears to be brief but favourable to "New Tide Orquesta" and the name change on the new album is mentioned directly. K7L (talk) 17:53, 17 November 2012 (UTC)[reply]

{{Requested move/dated}}

New Tango Orquesta → ? – The name of the orchestra have been changed, from "New Tango Orquesta" to "New Tide Orquesta", therefore it would be better to move this page to "New Tide Orquesta". They released their 6th album recently (oct) under the new name. See info on their website www.newtideorquesta.com. Please stop adding additional "requested move" templates while the existing requested move discussion is still open. I have no objections to the move itself, but we don't need three of the same discussion on the same page. K7L (talk) 13:58, 21 November 2012 (UTC)[reply]
  • Oppose. Let's forget about cleaning up this mess and go with the previous and quite recent decision not to move for the while. The official name change is recent and it won't hurt to make do with a redirect for now. Andrewa (talk) 05:23, 24 November 2012 (UTC)[reply]
Comment I only declined "New Tide Orquesta" as a WP:AFC proposed article as we already have a page on New Tide, namely this one, and normally do not create two of the same article. Please do not misrepresent my AFC decline as my opposing moving this page to the official name. As for the previous RM, it was closed without moving the page specifically because the new album wasn't out yet with the changed name... which is no longer true. I have no idea what they have as fan base, as I am not in Sweden and this seems to be notable only/primarily in Europe. K7L (talk) 05:41, 24 November 2012 (UTC)[reply]
I strongly object to the charge of misrepresentation. The rest of the above is accurate. Andrewa (talk) 06:01, 24 November 2012 (UTC)[reply]
I see no misrepresentation in Andrewa's post. I presume K7L has misunderstood. DrKiernan (talk) 17:50, 26 November 2012 (UTC)[reply]
