Contested claim made as an assertion as fact?[edit]

"Under Maduro's administration, more than 9,000 people have been subject to extrajudicial killings and more than four million Venezuelans have been forced to flee the country.[27][28]" The sources claiming this are disputed and biased against Maduro. At the very least the claim should be couched in terms that convey it's a disputed claim, no? Or at least say "according to"--instead of stating it as a given fact. I brought up this point a while ago but no one addressed it, and only archived the post here on talk. 76.14.117.19 (talk) 01:18, 17 February 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Removal of "Disputed" title in infobox[edit]

De facto and de jure, Maduro is Venezuela's undisputed president. He has control over all of Venezuela's institutions and is the leader that various presidents around the world have referred to by the title of "President" (among them Emmanuel Macron). Now that Juan Guaidó no longer holds any claim to the Venezuelan presidency, I believe that the "Disputed since 23 January 2019" title in the infobox should be removed, or at least a vote held regarding whether it should stay or not, since the Venezuelan presidential crisis has been resolved.

The U.S.'s opinion of Maduro's legitimacy holds little to no weight over the actual state of Venezuelan political affairs. I vote to remove the "disputed" title, both on this page and on all related pages displaying the title. -HandIsNotNookls (talk) 19:02, 5 January 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Juan Guaido's ouster as leader from the Venezuelan opposition and the fact that the U.S. has withdrawn it's support for Guaido, surely other nations who've done it will move in unison. I vote to remove the "disputed" title as well. Wildeofoscar (talk) 01:04, 7 January 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Keep The 2018 Venezuelan presidential elections were internationally questioned, regardless of Guaidó's status. That's why the subtitle's date is 10 January and not 23 January, when Guaidó declared he was president. Also, describing these reactions merely as "U.S.'s opinion" is highly misleading, and this opposition has also been domestic. --NoonIcarus (talk) 21:55, 20 January 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Edit request on 27 March 2024, Nicolás Maduro biography error.[edit]

Nicolás Maduro Moros (Spanish: [nikoˈlas maˈðuɾo ˈmoɾos] ; born 23 November 1962) is a Venezuelan politician who has served as the president of Venezuela since 2013.

This definition of Nicolás Maduro is wrong and outdated.

Nicolás Maduro is not to be considered a President, since elections in Venezuela failed to follow any international guidelines for democratic elections even before 2013, the year Maduro came into power. Nicolás Maduro is in fact a dictator, persecuting any legitimate opposition inside the country. Also committed many violations of Human Rights through the use of Venezuela's security forces, as reported in Protests against Nicolás Maduro. His government's attitude towards democracy in the 2024 Venezuelan elections have been dictatorial from the very start, purging UN observers from the country. As of March 27th 2024, Maduro also barred Corina Yoris from running for presidency. Yoris was already a substitute runner for María Corina Machado, a persecuted Venezuelan politician impeded from running for office by the Venezuelan Supreme Justice for 15 years, after winning the primary elections with 90% of the popular vote.

Suggested changes:

Nicolás Maduro Moros (Spanish: [nikoˈlas maˈðuɾo ˈmoɾos] ; born 23 November 1962) is a Venezuelan politician who has ruled as a dictator in the country of Venezuela since 2013.
