This dude is misusing Noida and other wiki pages[edit]

This guy has posted a link to his own blog "Straight Outta Noida (blog)"

If you read his blog, he also has talked about abusing Wiki. I am sure he's doing it in the best interests of wiki (as he points out in his blog). But dude, there are better ways to experiment.

Can this user be tagged as mischief maker? Does someone actually read these comments?

I have added sections based on the indian city article guidelines. They are incomplete and I will extend then later. IrfanAli 13:25, 5 September 2006 (UTC)

Cleanup of a lot of links. removed some spam. the article is becoming a listing of companies in the economic section. please restrain yourself from doing this. keep the page as from imformative than commercial. thevikas (talk) 03:21, 14 December 2007 (UTC)

Moved the growing list of software and BPO companies into List of Software and BPO companies in NOIDA page. thevikas (talk) 04:47, 25 December 2007 (UTC)

  • Well done!! Madhav (talk) 19:23, 25 December 2007 (UTC)

I think there's a lot of advertising going on in this page. There is a school named "Neo Astrological Sciences Academy" in the list of schools, which actually doesnt exist at all. It operates out of Marigold Public School[1]. I just corrected it.ScitDei (talk) 09:45, 20 May 2013 (UTC)

NOIDA Vs Noida[edit]

I made use of NOIDA consitent throughout the article. NOIDA is a short form hence it must have all capital letters. Also added internal links to adobe systems, CSC etc. --seXie(t0lk) 09:41, 15 November 2006 (UTC)

I disagree, and think that this article should be moved to Noida. Even the official website is inconsistent, but eg. street signage and the official "noida" logo use it as a word, and it's always pronounced "Noida", not "N.O.I.D.A.". Jpatokal 13:16, 17 February 2007 (UTC)

I am of the opinion that is not a very classy article. I see the use of peacock terms, personal opinion, and a host of other things not consistent with wiki guidelines.

for example : "The locals jokingly refer to the Authority as "No idea" due to the daily 3-6 hour load shedding (scheduled power outages), water shortages and pollution."

which could be worded in a more formal manner.

I guess it would benefit the article if the indian cities workgroup which apparantly maintains this article, was to clean it up. Vijeth 09:38, 10 July 2007 (UTC)

Location of Noida[edit]

From the map accompanying the article it appears that Noida is located in Haryana state. Actually it's in Uttar Pradesh state, immediately adjacent to Delhi. Could someone correct this? (I don't know how). Alfons Åberg 20:28, 16 July 2007 (UTC)

Also the zoom is not working properly - it should be at the state level instead of country level.

Nithari case[edit]

Should we add information on Nithari case here? —Preceding unsigned comment added by Inder315 (talkcontribs) 05:59, 31 January 2008 (UTC)

Metro Hospital[edit]

This Hospital in Noida is very popular for Heart as well as Respiratory Diagnosys. I was in Respiratory IRCU. The intensive care that is thrown towards Indian patients is like Bull Shit.(Sory to say this here). BUt dont get admitted in this hospital. They allways seek your position and try to fetch amounts like 20000/- 25000/- 30000/- minimum for all categories of patients. There were two old aged persons infront of my bed. * patients were packed in ICU where space was only for 6 .Those two were so tired of there services they were wishing their children to take them homes but Children were thinking as they are od aged so We should listen to doctors only. I have never seen behaviour like this. Staff is abusing patients lying in ICU. So please trust me get urself checked from them if you are blind faithed person but dont get admission there. As "Unki to dukaan chal padi hai customer aate he rahenge". They will try to admit you directoly ti ICU whatever ur problem is....

The tallest building project[edit]

I added some information about the 2005 tallest building project. In particular I wanted to mention about who was the architect who submitted the proposal for this building. I also wanted to compare this project with the currently tallest building in Taiwan. Encycloenvy (talk) 01:23, 2 February 2009 (UTC)

I tried to make the article easier to understand by removing stuff that didn't belong in sections, and rewriting headers and stuff. Heyhey Hey (talk) 21:37, 14 July 2009 (UTC)

Title NOIDA vs Noida[edit]

It is suggested that NOIDA be used instead of Noida for following reasons:

1. This is an acronym for New Okhla Industrial Development Area or New Okhla Industrial Authority. 2. Only the logo of NOIDA authority is in small letters viz., noida, with an angled d. It is like a trade mark. It does not suggest the trade mark can be used to change the rule of english language applying to acronyms. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Smanoida (talkcontribs) 14:33, 24 July 2009 (UTC)

I agree with you. NOIDA is an acronym.ScitDei (talk) 09:40, 20 May 2013 (UTC)

Further information: List of Software and BPO companies in NOIDA Picture shows the Sector-18 junction with SabMall in the background. Spice Mall Entrance, Noida

Noida has recently become a hub for multinational firms outsourcing IT services. Many large Software and Business Process Outsourcing (BPO) companies have their offices in the city.

The richest persons in NOIDA are Mr Janardan Singh and Mr Arvind Kumar Singh.

This is unverified piece of information maybe vandalism. Someone is eager to showoff his riches using Wikipedia. —Preceding unsigned comment added by (talk) 12:31, 15 November 2009 (UTC)

Article Quality[edit]

As this article seems to have been forgotten, I'm compiling some information and will be making minor edits (cleaning up the language and adding references) over the next few days to improve the quality of this article. Once that is done it would be nice if we can discuss what content needs to be added/removed to meet Wikipedia's quality standards. My goal is to have this article reviewed as being either GA or B quality (it is currently C - which is pretty poor for an important centre like Noida). I have also modified SVG maps of India to show districts individually. I'll try and get that going for Noida but if it works we can probably use the files to provide a more local 'red dot' map for all Indian towns/cities. Thanks Pranay Da Spyder (talk) 20:38, 12 April 2010 (UTC)

Location in lead[edit]

Can the location be put in the first sentence of the lead please?

Something like, "Noida is a city in the Uttar Pradesh State of India" should be the very first sentence. Details and trivia can come later. Thanks. (talk) 02:28, 26 August 2010 (UTC)

Hi everyone!

I've previously made some attempts to clean up this article, but I think I'm going to take this on seriously till we can make this a GA quality page. It's actually 'pathetic' right now with no respect to any of Wikipedia's guidelines. I'll start soon(in a few days), so I hope everyone can co-operate and collaborate!'Go NOIDA! Controversies ????[edit]

It happens across the globe is there any need of adding it on noida page .

Noida is a key revenue contributor to the UP state government. Also it has proximity to the capital of the country New Delhi. For such reasons, Noida's local administration has always suffered from excessive interference from the UP state government.

In particular the Mayawati government and earlier the mulayam Singh government have been known to engage excessively in the local administration of Noida.

no of gujjar and yadav villages in noida...[edit]

yadav hv 12 villages in noida which are Sarfabad, Garhi Chaukhandi, Morna, Hoshiyarpur, Patwari, Hoshiyarpur, Khanjarpur, Zahilabad, Rasoolpur Navada, Partha, Sorkhla and Naharpur while gujjars have roughly 16 ....and when we talk bout noida we dont take in account of greater noida villages of gujjars... — Preceding unsigned comment added by (talk) 17:32, 16 December 2011 (UTC)

  • I dont get what you are trying to say? The number of "villages" does not matter. Hell, they cannot even be called villages, as such. They are a part of Noida now. 23-v,340vpe4wtme4p;t,e0 (talk) 20:20, 19 October 2012 (UTC)
