The daquiri does not have any sort of ingredients or methods listed. Therefore is it really necessary to have it listed?? Or someone put something next to it besides question marks. --AgKid 04:54, 20 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]

List Clean Up Tag[edit]

I'm going to clean up this list. I'm seeing a few issues.

Remove non-ref'd, non-article entries
Remove anything not explicitly made as a non-alcoholic beverage (saying you can make non-alcohol versions of ANYthing doesn't count unless it has a separate article on the non-alcoholic one)
Remove anything that is a mixer or ingredient
Remove anything that is a general drink ("punch" is an acceptable entry, "kool-aid" is pushing it.)

Hopefully this makes sense and can help guide future additions (since all lists are incomplete, yadda yadda). Cheers, Estheim (talk) 20:42, 20 September 2021 (UTC)[reply]

UPDATE: TASK ABANDONED

Unfortunately, I'm giving up. I think the title needs to be changed, and I think this List needs to be considered in the greater organization of drink lists. My feeling is that each editor comes in with a vague, personal definition (myself included) and it will get bloated with indiscriminate entries until the definition can be refined. I find describing something as "non-alcoholic" to be contrasted with "a drink meant to imitate an alcoholic cocktail", mainly because I never drink tea and think to myself "Ah, yes, a wonderful NON-ALCOHOLIC BEVERAGE". It's hot. It's tea. That's it.

On the other hand, if this is "A list for every drinkable liquid that contains no alcohol", which is what I think it's trying to be... then is that really appropriate? That's enormous. That's a great category, but... I know I'd be lambasted by pedants and laughed out of an RfC, so I'm at a loss. Anyway, moving on! Cheers, Estheim (talk) 21:09, 20 September 2021 (UTC)[reply]

It seems like you did a good job cleaning up the virgin drink section. There are only two on there now and they seem appropriate. Both of these drinks require a good amount of ingredients and are not spirit forward, so it makes some sense to include them here. SaltyCalculator (talk) 21:48, 13 June 2023 (UTC)[reply]
