Differing frame rates?[edit]
"The cinematic release of the film ran 111 minutes, while later video and DVD versions ran 106 minutes due to the different frame rates between film and video."
Sound film runs at 24fps, North American video at 30fps (60 fields per second, interlaced). A system called "2:3 pulldown" allows the rates to be matched by repeating some of the video fields between frames. The film and the home video should have exactly the same running times.
Now, if the writer was referring to a transfer at the European-standard video rate of 25 fps... Such a transfer is (too-)often made by simply running the film at 25fps (4% faster). This would produce the timings given. WilliamSommerwerck (talk) 01:40, 2 September 2011 (UTC)
Writing credits?[edit]
Steinbeck himself wrote the stage version of his novel. Here, the producers of said play are listed as though they were writers. I think this should be fixed. 24.148.26.74 (talk) 17:58, 1 January 2012 (UTC)
