Rocket launches[edit]

This island doesn't look like it's large enough for rocket testing, not even small ones. Captain Jackson 23:37, 25 March 2006 (UTC)[reply]

I don't know what gives you that impression, but it is. You can watch launch videos at spacex.com. -- Beland 18:46, 22 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Isolation[edit]

Can someone with more expertise than I edit the clause that says "due to its isolation by water for thousands of kilometers in all directions"? Omelek is one islet in a circle of islets that once surrounded an actual island. Several of these islets are inhabited. The entire atoll, in turn, is part of a section of the Pacific with a great many other inhabited islands and atolls. Thanks. Bob51

I noticed that, to. Looking at the map Omelek obviously is not thousands (or even hundreds) of kilometers away from other islands. Captain Jackson 00:06, 27 March 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Map request[edit]

A locator map is needed to show the position with respect to the continents of the Earth. -- Beland 18:38, 22 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]

The current map has an inset that already does that, if you really want a separate locator map the one I made for Kwajalein could be re-used here. Kmusser 14:18, 10 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]
