South American version[edit]

A marsupial of the same name, aka Rat Opossum, genus Caenolestes, inhabits South America.[1][2]--BillFlis (talk) 15:13, 22 January 2012 (UTC)[reply]

That seems to be the more common use of the name; compare "opossum rat" marmosurus and "opossum rat" Caenolestes. This article should probably be renamed, as its title is rarely used vernacular name (cf. User:Ucucha/Titles). Ucucha (talk) 15:28, 22 January 2012 (UTC)[reply]
